The Democratic candidate for Senate from Iowa was forced to ask a group of journalists to explain what a sanctuary city is during an editorial board interview earlier this week with the Sioux City Journal, the Washington Examiner has learned. WASHINGTON — Eswin Mejia is officially on the federal immigration agency’s most-wanted list. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has added the 19-year-old Honduran citizen to its gallery of accused sex offenders, drug traffickers and other criminals. Police and prosecutors say Mejia caused a Jan. 31 wreck in Omaha that killed 21-year-old Sarah Root, who had graduated from Bellevue University a day earlier. He was arrested but disappeared after being released on bail a few days later. Federal officials had declined Omaha police requests to detain him. In January, Eswin Mejia, reported to be an illegal immigrant, went street racing in Omaha, Nebraska and caused a fatal car crash, killing 21-year-old Sarah Root.
