More than half of New York’s registered voters believe the state is headed in the wrong direction — and a whopping 80% are demanding term limits for the governor and legislators, a startling new poll shows. The fed-up respondents gave Gov. Kathy Hochul a dismal 40% approval rating, a big drop from her 50% figure from a survey released just three months ago, according to the independent Unite NY’s Voter Empowerment Index unveiled Sunday. Other state lawmakers fared even worse with a 27% approval rating, down from their recent 36%. Overall, 53% of the state’s voters said they don’t like...

'A Terrifying Precedent': Calvary Chapel Sues CA County for Tracking Attendance of Churchgoers A San Jose, California church still locked in a years-long legal battle with Santa Clara County officials over $1.2 million in fines for violating COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, alleges the county government conducted unconstitutional surveillance and tracked its members on the church's property using their cell phones. The federal lawsuit, filed Tuesday in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, on behalf of Calvary Chapel and its Pastor Mike McClure by attorneys with the nonprofit Advocates for Faith and Freedom claims the county and...

A sum of its parts, every U.S. state plays an integral role in the country’s overall economy. Texas, for example, generates an economic output that is comparable to South Korea’s, and even a small geographical area like Washington, D.C. outputs over $129 billion per year. *** California is by far the biggest state economy in the U.S. at $2.9 trillion in real GDP—and when comparing its nominal value ($3.6 trillion) with national GDPs worldwide, the Golden State’s GDP would rank 5th overall, just below Germany and Japan. *** Altogether, California, New York, and Texas account for almost one-third of the...

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), chair of the “Progressive Caucus” in the House, called Israel a “racist state” on Saturday in Chicago — but then said that she supported a “two-state solution” for Israel and the Palestinians. Jayapal was speaking at the Netroots Nation conference, a gathering of left-wing online activists. She was heckled by anti-Israel demonstrators who waved Palestinian flags. She chose to address them directly:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis slighted former President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court picks Monday, saying they came up short of what DeSantis called the “gold standard” set by two of the court’s other conservative justices. When asked by radio host Hugh Hewitt if he would “pledge to the Republicans as you go around the country that your judges will be like the Trump judges,” the 44-year-old DeSantis responded: “Well, actually, I would say we’ll do better than that. “I respect the three appointees he did, but none of those three are at the same level of Justice [Clarence] Thomas and Justice...

Activist group the Human Rights Campaign recently declared a "National State of Emergency" for LGBTQ+ people due to the signing of dozens of "anti-LGBTQ+ bills" by conservative lawmakers throughout the country this year. The signing of "more than 75 anti-LGBTQ+ bills" in "this year alone" has prompted the emergency declaration, encouraging millions of LGBTQ individuals to remain alert and on edge for political persecution. In addition to the strong language, such as the claim that the LGBTQ+ community is "in danger" thanks to these bills, HRC’s emergency announcement also included a detailed chart denoting which of the 50 states have...

A federal court ruling likely to drop this month should provide a good indication as to whether America still has a fully functioning First World justice system. The case, involving an investigation from New York Attorney General Letitia James into the supposed mismanagement of controversial news outlet VDare.com, has received zero media coverage so far, despite it being as crude, brutish, and nakedly political as James’ other lawfare campaigns (notably against former President Trump and the NRA). In fact, it’s arguably worse, as it was clearly designed to dox VDare’s writers and volunteers and bankrupt the tiny outlet out...

Biden has said and done lots of dangerous things in his crushing rush to embrace collectivist ideology. But nothing is more dangerous than when he recently claimed that the children of America don’t belong to their parents, but to the nation at large. "Rebecca put a teacher's creed into words when she said, 'There's no such thing as someone else's' child. Our nation's children are all our children,’” he quoted. This is hateful and fundamentally wrong– and no parent needs a so-called experts to disabuse them of the notion that our children are ours, and no one elses. It is...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom won’t give a State of the State address this year, shunning the teleprompter that has frustrated him because of his dyslexia in favor of a statewide tour this month, in which he can highlight his major policy goals in a more informal setting. Scripted speeches have given Newsom trouble because of his dyslexia, a common learning disability that makes it harder for him to read and do other things related to reading. It’s why he rarely uses notes in his public appearances and memorizes vast amounts of facts and figures. Last year,...

The Federal Bureau of Investigation was once one of the most trusted institutions in the nation. FBI agents had the image of being honest, upright, patriotic, and not only not corrupt, but not corruptible. Beginning late in the Obama administration and accelerating sharply during the misrule of Old Joe Biden, however, the FBI took its sterling reputation, stomped on it with muddy shoes, tossed it in the dumpster, took it out and set fire to it, and threw the smoldering remainder into a vat of raw sewage. The survey site Statista reported in August 2022 that “Where 57 percent of...
