It’s always an interesting exercise to take new and confirmed information and go back to see the claims from the key stakeholders when the initial trail of the information was discovered. This is one such example from July 2017.

Before the Nunes memo was released, Democrats, the media and its intelligence sources insisted that it would undermine national security, reveal tradecraft secrets and even get agents killed. Senator Cory Booker warned that it might be treasonously "endangering fellow Americans in the intelligence community." It was, but not in the way that he meant. The memo didn’t have anything resembling classified information it. Neither did the Grassley-Graham criminal referral which was heavily redacted to screen out all the “classified information.” What did the classified information consist of?

At least four separate coincidences have emerged as the public learns more information about the unverified Steele dossier and how it was crafted. The origin story of the 35-page document was pretty simple at the outset. Fusion GPS, which was investigating then-presidential candidate Donald Trump, hired former British spy Christopher Steele to write the dossier.

Comey is in hot water. The unredacted memo reveals the FBI misled the FISA court about Christopher Steele’s contacts with media outlets. Acording to the Senate Judiciary criminal referral, Steele lied to the FBI about his contacts with the media such as Yahoo News and Mother Jones. Steele previously told the FBI that he had not spoken to the media.
