A 68-year-old Wisconsin man who falsely claimed to be a Navy SEAL wounded four times in Vietnam has been sentenced to four years in prison for theft and faking paperwork. U.S. prosecutors say Kenneth E. Jozwiak produced fake discharge paperwork in 2014 to get U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs pension benefits intended for low-income wartime veterans. In 2014, Jozwiak submitted a discharge certificate that claimed he served as a Navy SEAL from 1965 to 1968 and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. All -- including the four Purple Hearts for combat injuries — were totally false, according to...

DISREGARD PRIOR ARTICLE TITLED 'THE IMPEACHMENT OF SENATOR BLUMENTHAL' Last night, on CNN, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D., CT) told Anderson Cooper that President Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey, “may well produce impeachment proceedings.” Blumenthal continued: “It may well produce another United States vs. Nixon on a subpoena that went to United States Supreme Court.” Senator Blumenthal is simply parroting more Democratic talking points that are full of sound and fury and which signify nothing. There was no Saturday Night Massacre II. There were no violations of the law on the President’s part. There were no dictatorial machinations. There...

"I could not help but notice a number of my colleagues on the other side of the aisle high-fiving each other," Blumenthal said on the Senate floor. "That image stays with me as I stand here now. It saddens me." . . . "There is no cause for celebration in what happened in the Senate just hours ago," he said. "No one should sleep well tonight. No one should underestimate the magnitude of what happened here. Damage was done to our democracy."

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday condemned a Syrian chemical weapons attack that killed dozens and blamed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, but did not say how he would respond despite calls from France for stronger U.S. leadership. Trump said the attack in Syria's Idlib province was "reprehensible and cannot be ignored by the civilized world," although he also sought to blame his predecessor, Barack Obama. "These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the last administration's weakness and irresolution," Trump said in a statement. Senate smear never paid a price for claiming he served. In the confirmation hearings for Jeff Sessions, president-elect Donald Trump’s choice for Attorney General, Senator Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut Democrat, proceeded as though David Horowitz had been the AG choice. David Horowitz was not present but Blumenthal cited his statements that all the major Muslim organizations are connected to the Muslim Brotherhood, that 80 percent of the mosques in America are filled with hate against Jews, and that too many blacks are in prison because too many blacks commit crimes. Senator Blumenthal, an attorney, had not taken the trouble to investigate...

An Army deserter who pretended for years to be a Special Ops sergeant and Purple Heart recipient was sentenced Monday to a year and a day in federal prison. Simon Emilio Zablah, a 29-year-old resident of Broward County, Florida, pleaded guilty in November to two charges of impersonating a federal officer and one count of credit card fraud. Despite going AWOL from the Army within two weeks of enlisting in January 2005 — and later being discharged on “other than honorable conditions” — for years Zablah identified himself as a federal agent with the Drug Enforcement Agency, as well as...

In May of 2014, a dramatic Iraq war photo was posted to the Facebook page of state Rep. Graham Hunt, R-Orting, showing two kneeling U.S. soldiers in desert combat uniforms, one man consoling the other. “This picture of me was taken after a mortar attack in 2005,†the post said. “Background has been modified, but I think combat camera captured the moment pretty well. I surely have not forgotten that moment.†Hunt is a decorated former Arizona Air National Guard member who deployed to the Middle East. But neither soldier in the picture was him. A federal appeals court on Monday tossed out a veteran's conviction for wearing military medals he didn't earn, saying it was a form of free speech protected by the Constitution. A specially convened 11-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the First Amendment allows people to wear unearned military honors.

We have been asked to provide the Veteran’s Perspective on the topic of “stolen valor†… well, it is a diversion from the issue of Radical Islamic Terrorism and frankly a good way to help us all head into the Thanksgiving holiday on the proper note. Here goes … Must Be a Sad Illness – To those of us who have served in combat and must deal with the “blessings†and the “burdens†that come with that service it is completely inconceivable that somebody would want to lie about having been to combat. We know firsthand that in reality there...

A state Senate candidate from Virginia Beach said he misrepresented his military record, an error that could dim Democrats’ hopes of unseating an entrenched Republican incumbent and winning control of the chamber. Campaign materials for Gary T. McCollum, a cable television executive challenging Sen. Frank W. Wagner (R-Virginia Beach), had said he was “currently a Major in the Army Reserve.” But Army records show he was discharged 14 years ago, in September 2001, according to Ray Gall, a spokesman for the U.S. Army Human Resources Command in Fort Knox, Ky.
