  • McCain’s Elaborate Funeral

    09/02/2018 4:34:24 AM PDT · by gaggs · 30 replies
John McCain had a more elaborate funeral than King George or Winston Churchill. He spent the whole last year of his life planning a royal funeral rather than representing his constituents in Arizona. Sad! This entire thing was a propaganda show from start to finish. His Deep State handlers propped up his corpse and set him up to be some sort of martyr/hero of the ‘resistance’, completely rewriting his so-called legacy to turn him into some kind of folk hero for people to follow instead of one of the swampiest swamp creatures ever to slither out from under a lilypad....

Thought a lot about John McCain’s funeral and here are my observations. The McCain family loathes President Trump and Meghan McCain’s eulogy incorporated that sentiment. She was emotional in remembering her father so we should all respect her thoughts even if we disagree. George W. Bush also is not a fan of Trump’s but his remarks had no malice. Barack Obama gave the most political address. A brilliant orator, the former President can be disingenuous. His assessment that the American press is “independent” is astonishing. Mr. Obama basically received lap dog coverage and STILL had no use for the scribes....

John McCain is being hailed by the press as a "genuine war hero." But is he a war hero in the conventional sense like Audie Murphy and John Glenn? Or is his "war hero" status the creation of a very slick publicity campaign that plays on flag, duty, honor and country? For sure, McCain has the fruit salad - a Silver Star, a Legion of Merit for Valor, a Distinguished Flying Cross, three Bronze Stars, two Commendation medals plus two Purple Hearts and a dozen service gongs. On a purely medal-count basis, he outweighs Murphy and Glenn, who both for...

Meghan McCain on Saturday presented the legacy of her father, John McCain, as a sharp contrast to the conduct of President Donald Trump, with whom the late senator bitterly feuded. Although McCain didn't mention the President by name -- and he was not present at the service, in accordance with the late senator's wishes -- she made several unmistakable and pointed references throughout her emotional remarks. "We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness, the real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of...

John McCain is finally getting his due respect from President Trump -- his body is being flown to Washington D.C. on an aircraft that had to be approved by POTUS. The late Arizona senator's casket was loaded onto one of the jets known as Air Force 2 -- which is often designated for the VP or First Lady's travel. As you know, 45 will not be attending McCain's service in D.C. ... reportedly because McCain wanted it that way. Still, Trump announced earlier this week he had greenlit military transport for McCain, saying, "At the request of the McCain family,...

The insults against Trump and 63 million or more of us coming from the memorials and funeral of John McCain are a serious mistake. I know you folks read Free Republic or have staff who do and inform you of what is written here. You are very foolish to be insulting us and Trump via traitor McCain's funeral. Here's the end result: Those of us who didn't like you before have reached end point. You either get to the business of finishing us off, or long term, we're going to get you. Talk about division...you've have really set it up...

Bush — who defeated McCain in the 2000 Republican presidential primary — said that the Arizona senator “detested the abuse of power and could not abide bigots and swaggering despots.” “He respected the dignity inherent in every life, a dignity that does not stop at borders and cannot be erased by dictators,” Bush continued. “John’s voice will always come as a whisper over our shoulder: ‘We’re better than this, America is better than this’.” Watch above, via CNN.

Meghan McCain tore into an absent President Trump at a memorial service for her father, Arizona Sen. John McCain, in Washington on Saturday. “We gather here to mourn the passing of American greatness,” McCain, a co-host of “The View,” said at the National Cathedral. “The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the sacrifice he gave so willingly, nor the opportunistic appropriation of those who lived lives of comfort and privilege.” “He was a great fire who burned bright,” she said in a speech punctuated by sobbing. “A few have resented that fire… but my...

Meghan McCain took a number of swipes at President Trump on Saturday in a eulogy for her father John McCain -- who sparred with Trump on a number of occasions before his death last week of brain cancer. 'The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great,' she said, in what appeared to a reference to Trump's presidential campaign slogan: "Make America Great Again." She also said that her father's passing represented the passing of "American greatness. The real thing, not cheap rhetoric from men who will never come near the...

McCain’s memorial remembrances were filled with themes of unity, inclusion, and compromise. They stressed how McCain was someone who could reach across the aisle, find consensus, and put differences aside to bring people together for the greater good. It’s too bad McCain’s final actions contradicted that message... Senator McCain had a perfect opportunity to be the “maverick” of his reputation. He could have been the unifier. He could have done the right thing by allowing even those he had unresolved issues with, differences with, to come and pay their respects and to honor him. He could have shown the country,...

And I say this with the deepest of sincerity – and I don’t want calls on this, by the way: Am I the only person in America who thinks the passing of McCain and the news coverage has gone on a little too long and it’s a little too much? Really, you can honor somebody, but this is going on day after day after day after day after day. And I don’t say this out of any animus whatsoever, period. Why do some public officials get this kind of treatment – Kennedy, McCain, so forth – and others get no...

WASHINGTON — Washington’s bitterly divided leaders came together on Friday to praise the late Senator John McCain as an embodiment of America’s fighting spirit, idealism and sense of humor, but there was one notable absentee: President Donald Trump. … McCain helped plan the events around his funeral. He made it clear to family and friends that he wanted Democratic former Vice President Joe Biden, Bush and Obama to speak — but that Trump was not welcome.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey (R) during a service honoring the late Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said it is "not natural" to picture the state without McCain, comparing it to Arizona losing the Grand Canyon. Since his passing, late Senator John McCain has been treated like a United States war hero. Yes, McCain did spend time as a prisoner of war, but does that make him a hero? Interestingly enough, McCain felt that his job was not over in this lifetime, and he has a final word from beyond the grave. McCain was so anti-Trump, he fought the President at every step. John McCain had one last slap-in-the-face to President Trump, from beyond the grave. Take a look at the theatrical trailer of "Active Measures: A Conspiracy Hiding In Plain Sight." WASHINGTON — Not long after Senator John McCain learned last summer that he had terminal brain cancer, he began convening meetings every Friday in his Capitol Hill office with a group of trusted aides. The subject was his funeral. He obsessed over the music, selecting the Irish ballad “Danny Boy” and several patriotic hymns. He choreographed the movement of his coffin from Arizona, his home state, to Washington. And in April, when he knew the end was coming, he began reaching out to Republicans, Democrats and even a Russian dissident with requests that they deliver eulogies and serve as pallbearers....

Flashback to November 2010. A video we posted almost eight years ago of Sen. John McCain on CNN praising Gov. Sarah Palin up one side and down the other. He even compared her to Ronald Reagan, saying “I think she’s doing a great job,” and “I’m proud of her.” Also remember that Sarah Palin went to Arizona and endorsed John McCain for re-election to the U.S. Senate in 2010........(video)......Palin stood up for McCain when he needed it most. What a contrast to numerous media reports that indicate Palin was not invited to attend McCain’s upcoming funeral service. Some say there...
