John McCain had a more elaborate funeral than King George or Winston Churchill. He spent the whole last year of his life planning a royal funeral rather than representing his constituents in Arizona. Sad!
This entire thing was a propaganda show from start to finish. His Deep State handlers propped up his corpse and set him up to be some sort of martyr/hero of the ‘resistance’, completely rewriting his so-called legacy to turn him into some kind of folk hero for people to follow instead of one of the swampiest swamp creatures ever to slither out from under a lilypad.
Here’s the thing that makes absolutely no sense – McCain was supposedly afflicted with a fatal case of brain cancer, and yet he was supposedly still able to not only do his job as a Senator but issue all kinds of statements and opinions right up until the end of his life? We never saw much information coming out about how serious his illness was or how functional he was.

i suspect that the last months of “statements” came from staff, not from him. the staff that facilitated forwarding of Steele dossier, that colluded with Lois Lerner....etc they needed to keep their jobs as long as possible

I think the e l o n g a t e d McCain funeral gave all of us a nice break from TV and news in general. As soon as I heard the word McCain, I turned it off. All this did was excite Democrats and Anti-Trumpers. The base (like me) just became even a more firm supporter. That funeral week won’t get them a single new vote, but it will make Trump votes even stronger.
Yeah, the whole spectacle is way overdone. David Hackworth had a good analysis of McCain’s hero status back in 2000. Basically, he concluded that it was overhyped.

To me, the Media is slobbering over it because they look at it as another opportunity to bash Trump. And Meagan McCain certainly stepped up to the plate in that respect.

Meghan McCain will never have a better opportunity to audition for the big time. Her appearance on the view is just a stepping stone for her. If her ego matches her fathers, she needed to hit several liberal homeruns during her speech yesterday.

Like Chelsea Clinton, Meghan McCain will never be elected to anything. She was only “famous” because of her father (and, really, his willingness to buck his Party). Now that he is gone, she will fade into obscurity.
The same staff that treated Sarah Palin like trash. I am so sick of these “representatives” dying in office and the press referring to “their” seat. When was McCain last in Washington? Probably when he gave a thumbs down to Obamacare repeal. After that he was as good as retired. But no, it was his seat. Horse manure. That Senate seat, like any, are open during an election cycle or when a Senator can no longer represent (ie vote) constituents due to end of life issues. Repeal the 17th ammendment and this problem goes away. The Senate was supposed to represent the states; the house represents the citizens. Governor Ducey should have appointed a replacement for McCain when he left for Arizona, never to return to DC.
