Gasoline prices in Fresno already increased beyond $4 per gallon this week at some places in town. And gas prices are projected to rise even more going into the summer in the aftermath of President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal. A year ago, the national average for was $2.34 for a gallon of gas, according to a CNN Money report. These days, that national average has jumped to $2.81 per gallon. Those in Fresno can probably add a dollar on top of the national price, with high state taxes and stringent standards for reformulating...
  • California's Summer Gas Is Approaching $4.00/gal

As California's Summer Gas Is Approaching $4.00/gal what can we expect from President Trump and changes to onerous EPA regulations? Part of gasoline’s price increase is largely seasonal, as refiners tend to process less crude oil into fuel during maintenance and are starting to transition to summer-grade gasoline, which is more expensive to make. According to analysts prices will likely climb further as the weather warms and driving picks up. We need to get gas prices under control in order to MAGA.

My client just received an $800 check as Trump is going after the Obama Deep State 2010 stimulus program to close it. The IRS is trying to blow the money by sending out checks on the 2010 tax year. The client is returning the check as they are not entitled to it. Still Deep State corruption in the IRS.

Members of the media are pushing the narrative that tax cuts are unpopular with voters. The truth is that they aren’t unpopular. American families like—and need—tax cuts. Taxes are unpopular because voters know they can spend their money better than Washington can. They can invest it, they can save it, and they can donate it to the causes they care deeply about. Taxes are also unpopular because Washington is bloated. It’s no secret that it wastes taxpayer money all the time. Last year, Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., pointed out that the federal government was spending $1.7 million for a...

Speaking at an event in New York City last week, Hillary Clinton said something interesting about Democrats today and their lurch to the left. Clinton said being a capitalist “probably” hurt her when campaigning against democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in 2016. Think about that. Part of the reason so many Republicans are frozen like a deer in headlights when it comes to President Trump is the horror of thinking about Clinton as president. It is stunning to realize how in today’s Democratic Party, being a capitalist is something one must either apologize for or at least give qualified...
  • CNN Poll: Trump approval steady amid rising outlook for the country

President Donald Trump's approval rating is holding steady in a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS, but his numbers on handling several key issues are climbing, as almost 6 in 10 say things in the country are going well. Overall, 41% approve of the President's work, and 53% disapprove. Those numbers are about the same as at the end of March. On the issues, however, Trump's numbers are climbing. Approval is up 4 points on the economy to 52%, the first time it's topped 50% since March 2017; up 5 points on foreign trade to 43% approval; and his numbers...
  • CBO: Government runs biggest monthly surplus ever in April

The Congressional Budget Office is reporting that the federal government took in $515 billion in April. With outlays only $218 billion, the $190 billion surprlus represents the largest in history. What's more, the CBO said that the surplus was $40 billion more than expected. Washington Times: Analysts said they’ll have a better idea of what’s behind the surge as more information rolls in, but for now said it looks like individual taxpayers are paying more because they have higher incomes. “Those payments were mostly related to economic activity in 2017 and may reflect stronger-than-expected income growth in that year,” the...

Job openings hit a fresh record in March, further defying opinion that the labor market is tightening and near full. The level hit 6.6 million, according to the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey released Tuesday that, even though lagging a month, is closely watched for signs of market slack. Job openings in total rose by 472,000 over February. Openings jumped in professional and business services, which added 112,000 positions, as well as construction, with 68,000 and transportation, warehousing and utilities, which reported 37,000 new positions. The openings happened during a month when nonfarm payroll hiring grew by 135,000, according...

On Friday’s “PBS NewsHour,” New York Times columnist David Brooks said that the GOP tax bill is working better than he thought it would and the evidence “seems to be that what the Trump people told us would happen is happening, that companies are reinvesting the money.” Brooks stated, “I was against the Trump tax cuts. But the early evidence is that they’re working better than I thought. And so, in the first quarter, among S&P companies, capital expenditures are up 39 percent. That’s a seven-year high. That’s far higher than a lot of us thought. Stock buybacks, which is...

TRANSCRIPT: CAMEROTA: “The breaking news that we just had moments ago were the new job numbers, the lowest in anybody’s memory, 3.9 percent unemployment rate. It’s been 15 months of Donald Trump’s presidency. Do you give him credit for that?” JARRETT: “Look, I think we have to look at it over a longer horizon than that. If you think about what the economy was like when President Obama took office, we were losing 750,000 jobs a month. Under his watch the unemployment rate dropped in half and it’s encouraging to see that we’re continuing to make progress. We want to...

{snip]The Bureau of Labor Statistics announced Friday that the U.S. economy added 164,000 jobs in April, pushing the unemployment rate down to 3.9 percent, the lowest since 2000. When asked on CNN’s “New Day” if Jarrett gives Trump credit for that, she deferred to giving Obama credit for starting the trend.“Look, I think we have to look at it over a longer horizon than that,” she said. “If you think about what the economy was like when President Obama took office, we were losing 750,000 jobs a month. Like many union workers, Oberbroeckling voted twice for former Democratic President Barack Obama before backing Donald Trump and other Republicans in 2016. Now he has buyer’s remorse - and plans to support the Democratic challenger to Rod Blum, the Republican congressman in this blue-collar, eastern Iowa district. “Trump is for the rich,” said Oberbroeckling, 37, sipping a rum-and-coke. “Blum’s for big business. They said they were for the workers, but they’re not.” That sentiment should encourage Democrats, who saw their once-reliable labor vote help send Trump to the White House after he vowed to revive Rust Belt factories with trade...

The U.S. economy added 164,000 jobs in April, a modest number which was less than expected as the nation’s labor market maintains a steady pace of growth. The unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent, the lowest level since December 2000, the Labor Department reported on Friday. Expectations were for an April gain of about 190,000 jobs. Jobs growth is expected to slow down somewhat as the labor market tightens and the unemployment rate drops into rarely seen 3-percent range.

Leakers and lawbreakers rewarded with Clinton-administration jobs — and the American public none the wiser about deep-state corruption T here are lots of possible counterfactuals to think about had Hillary Clinton won the presidency as all the experts had predicted. The U.S. embassy would have stayed in Tel Aviv. “Strategic patience” would likely still govern the North Korea dilemma. Fracking would be curtailed. The — rather than “our” — miners really would be put out of work. Coal certainly would not have been “beautiful.” The economy probably would be slogging along at below 2 percent GDP growth. China would be...

The conservative blog RedState experienced “mass firings” Friday because of what its parent company, Salem Media, characterized as a decision influenced by finances. But one writer who was laid off said she is skeptical of that characterization, adding that she believes the website is effectively trying to silence voices that are not, in their view, sufficiently supportive of President Trump and his policies... “If this is a decision just strictly made for money purposes, they would want to keep the ones who were bringing in the most [page] views,” Wright said... Indeed, Mediaite obtained RedState’s traffic report for the month...

Enthusiasm for the Democratic Party is waning among young voters - so-called millennials - as its candidates head into the crucial midterm congressional elections, according to the Reuters/Ipsos national opinion poll. The online survey of more than 16,000 registered voters ages 18 to 34 shows their support for Democrats over Republicans for Congress slipped by about 9 percentage points over the past two years, to 46 percent overall. And they increasingly say the Republican Party is a better steward of the economy.
