Tim McGraw has some harsh words for divisive political rhetoric and the Jan. 6 attack on the United States Capitol — and he doesn't want to waste words on former President Donald Trump at all. "I'm not going to give him any air," McGraw replied with a chuckle, when asked for his thoughts on the former president during a TIME Person of the Week podcast interview. "From my perspective and my world, that's just so far out there that I can't even put words to it," the singer continues. "I want what's best for our country. I want what's best...

Tim McGraw lightened the mood while supporting a serious cause, playing his upbeat 1999 hit "Something Like That" while dangling from his pool diving board for the iHeart Living Room Concert for America on Sunday night (March 29). Even though McGraw was isolated in his backyard, he was joined for the fun throwback by his bandmates playing from their own homes and beamed in for a four-screen performance -- kind of like a musical version of those Zoom happy hours you've been having with your friends while staying at home. The Living Room Concert for America -- hosted by Elton...

Don’t get me wrong, amigos. The “mainstream media†does not label gun-control-loving Tim Mc Graw’s upcoming tour in the same manner as does this column. Instead we read stuff like this:  “Tim McGraw to perform in (totalitarian) Cuba-- McGraw’s 2019 Memorial Day Weekend trek, dubbed “One of Those Havana Nights.â€..The McGraw trip offers lodging in ocean-view rooms at (totalitarian) Havana’s upscale Meliá Hotel, where a box of cigars and a bottle of rum will await each traveler. The all-inclusive tour is designed to make foreigners' typical Havana dreams come true, featuring a ride around (totalitarian) Havana in a classic American...

Sandy Hook Promise is a vehicle through which various relatives of Sandy Hook victims have joined to push gun control until it passes. Newtown father Mark Bearden joined the group pledging to “dedicate the rest of his life” to pursuing gun control. McGraw says he supports the Sandy Hook Promise, “Sandy Hook Promise teaches that we can do something to protect our children from gun violence“ and as AmmoLand Shooting Sports News has...

Revealing: What ABC Didn’t Show You from the CMA Country Music Fest Posted By Bruce Carroll On September 2, 2010 This article is nearly three months in the making. For the second year in a row, my partner John and I attended the Country Music Association (CMA) Music Fest in Nashville, TN in early June. As a side note, if you ever get the opportunity – GO! It is a weeklong celebration of great country music and the great American city of Nashville. But this isn’t a tourist agency pimping of Music City. Nope, it is a damning indictment of...

The movie that tells their story hits theaters in time for National Adoption Day—and recognition that about 130,000 Michael Ohers are waiting for a family to adopt them Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy adopted as a family motto, "To whom much is given, much is required," they had no idea just how much would be required, nor that they were adopting far more than...

Being a Republican country music fan, this saddens me. But it is not as tough for me as it is for Tennessee Republicans, who may have to make the difficult choice between party loyalty with Bill Frist and voting for McGraw just so his wife, Faith Hill, can be the First Lady of Tennessee. Good luck with that. More . . .

Tim McGraw helped members of his stage crew eject a fan from his Tuesday night (June 24) concert in Auburn, Wash., after seeing the man assault a woman who was in one of the front rows. A video of the incident surfaced Wednesday at several Internet sites. McGraw was performing his 1994 hit, "Indian Outlaw," when he stopped singing and yelled, "Get rid of this guy! Security!" At that point, McGraw knelt down and began pulling the man onstage. Members of his stage crew showed up immediately to assist McGraw. Ernest Jasmin, pop music writer for the The News Tribune...

Link to performance from 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards 5/15/2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3bc7mdkyTw May 21, 2007 — Tim McGraw's performance of "If You're Reading This" during the Academy of Country Music Awards last week brought the crowd to their feet and tears to many eyes. After a closed rehearsal set and days of speculation over what Tim would be performing on this year's show, fans and TV viewers were surprised with an emotional tribute to the families of America's fallen heroes in the war on terror. Nashville's WKRN reports that the song was only written three weeks beforehand and was a...

It's innate in me to be a Democrat--a true Southern populist kind of Democrat. There's not a lot of those anymore. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong. That's just the way I feel. The issues that matter to me are the social safety nets for people, health care, middle-class concerns. We need to take care of the middle class and the poor in our country. The chasm is getting larger between haves and have-nots, and that's something we need to close down a little bit.

NEW YORK — Country music might seem like a pretty conservative medium, but Tim McGraw is bucking the trend. "It's innate in me to be a Democrat — a true Southern populist kind of Democrat. There's not a lot of those anymore," McGraw tells Time magazine in its Oct. 23 issue. "The issues that matter to me are the social safety nets for people, health care, middle-class concerns. We need to take care of the middle class and the poor in our country. The chasm is getting larger between haves and have-nots, and that's something we need to close down...

March, 8, 2006 — Faith Hill and Tim McGraw — two stars who usually stay out of politics — blasted the Hurricane Katrina cleanup effort, with Hill calling the slow progress in Louisiana and Mississippi "embarrassing" and "humiliating." The country music artists — who are natives of the storm ravaged states — were at times close to tears, and clearly angry when the subject of Katrina came up during a news conference today. They had met with reporters in Nashville to promote their upcoming Soul2Soul II Tour, but when asked about the hurricane cleanup, the stars pulled no punches. "To...

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country singer Tim McGraw says he wants to run for office someday in his adopted home state of Tennessee _ perhaps for governor or U.S. senator _ and he's getting encouragement from a fellow Democrat, former President Clinton. "I think he's got it," Clinton says of McGraw in an Esquire magazine story that hits newsstands Monday. "The Democrats need candidates whom people can relate to in a personal way, people who understand their lives and their concerns and share their values. And I think that's something Tim can do without even pretending."
