I was born and raised in Southern Nevada. I remember it to be a free place, but the area is "Sin City." Since moving from there, I've become a Christ follower. But now I'm in the Godless, anti-gun, anti-Liberty, illegal-alien-loving slave state of California. I've been hatching a plot to escape: Wifey, son and I move to Southern Nevada and get our main place. (Wifey doesn't want the cold or super rural-ness of the north east.) Then we buy a mountain cabin in Northern Nevada where my son and I can travel to often to live as free men to...

Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan had some strong words Tuesday for House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who accused the Trump administration and ICE agents of carrying out "cowardly attacks" on illegal immigrants. Pelosi issued the statement after the Justice Department filed a lawsuit against California, claiming three recently passed state laws are deliberately interfering with federal immigration enforcement. “The people of California will not be bowed by the Trump administration’s brazen aggression and intimidation tactics," the California Democrat said. "Californians will continue to proudly keep our doors open to the immigrants who make America more American. We will fight this...

A man has been rescued from an ice floe speeding down the Petitcodiac River this morning. A rescue operation Thursday morning saw the man pass through the Petitcodiac Causeway gates, under the Gunningsville Bridge and past Chateau Moncton heading towards the Bay of Fundy on a fast current. Reporters at the scene said he looked like he was freezing when he was pulled from the river, and was being treated by paramedics in an ambulance. Earlier, firefighters tried to rescue the man by throwing ropes to him from the shore of the river, but they were unsuccessful.

To Palestinians and their supporters, hers is the face of a hero, a new symbol of resistance. But many Israelis call 17-year-old Ahed Tamimi "Shirley Temper" after viewing videos showing the girl angrily lashing out at Israeli soldiers. The long-running Israeli-Palestinian conflict has always been about competing narratives, and in this age of social media and viral videos, Ahed's defiance has made her into something of a star in the Arab world and beyond. The blond-haired, blue-eyed Palestinian girl spent her 17th birthday inside an Israeli military prison last week, where she, along with her mother, await trial on Feb....

Environmentalists are targeting your hamburgers and buffalo wings with a “Meat Tax.” And they claim they have “never been closer to a meat tax.” As reported by Bloomberg Law: Hamburger addicts, barbecue junkies, and fried chicken fanatics may soon be asked to pay a surcharge for their obsessions with meat. Excise taxes on beef, pork, and chicken could be the next big thing in a state and local tax environment that’s already comfortable with “sin tax” regimes aimed at cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, and gambling and is adapting quickly to special levies on sugar-sweetened beverages, greenhouse gases, and marijuana. While there...

Pedophilia is considered to be the most taboo issue in the world. For obvious reasons, those who are known pedophiles live with a huge stigma attached to them. Many of them struggle with pedophilic impulses but don’t act on them - and they have been the subject of much media attention, scientific attention, and psychiatric attention as well.

Rudolf Flesch, in his 1955 book, noted that "things have changed in the last 10, 20 years. For the first time in history, American parents see their children getting less education than they got themselves. Their sons and daughters come home from school and they can't read the newspaper; they can't spell simple words like February or Wednesday; they don't know the difference between Austria and Australia. The fathers and mothers don't know the reason for this, but they know that something terrible has happened to their most precious dreams and aspirations[.]" Isn't it beautiful – the way Flesch perceives...

Charles Schulz insisted on one core purpose: A ...Charlie Brown Christmas had to be about something. Namely, the true meaning of Christmas. Otherwise, Schulz said, “Why bother doing it?” To Coca-Cola’s credit, Mendelson says, the corporate sponsor never balked at the idea of including New Testament passages. The result — Linus’s reading from the Book of Luke about the meaning of the season — became “the most magical two minutes in all of TV animation,” the producer says....

Racing to reverse the country's economic spiral, President Barack Obama signed the mammoth stimulus package into law Tuesday and readied a new $50 billion foreclosure rescue for legions of Americans who are in danger of losing their homes. There was no recovery yet for beleaguered automakers, who were back in Washington for more bailout billions. General Motors Corp. said it was closing plants, Chrysler LLC said it was cutting vehicle models and both said they were getting rid of thousands more jobs as they made their restructuring cases for $5 billion more for Chrysler and as much as $16.6 billion...
