A month after Transformation Church in Tulsa, OK, hosted a celebration of life for the late pro-choice, pro-LGBTQ, hell-denying, Trinity-denying, Universalist, Unitarian Bishop Carlton Pearson, with lead pastor Michael Todd praising him as a “man of God” who faithfully lived out the gospel message, Todd reiterated his contempt for the scriptures by trashing the stage and pouring syrup and whipped cream all over a bible and communion elements as part of a grotesque sermon illustration. Transformation Church is led by pastor Michael Todd, the fashion-obsessed leader known for crowd surfing during his church’s worship service, preaching some good old-fashioned Modalism,...

Two religious leaders plan to join a lawsuit filed by a synagogue in Boynton Beach, Florida against a state law banning abortion at 15 weeks gestation. The two leaders, one Unitarian and one Buddhist, will argue that the law violates the state Constitution’s right to privacy and freedom of religion (via NBC): The retired Unitarian Rev. Harris Riordan and the Buddhist minister Maya Malay confirmed they will file a lawsuit in state court next week, echoing arguments from Rabbi Barry Silver. Silver intends to file his own amended complaint next week along with Rabbi Arthur Wascow, the founder and director...
  • Questions about the NYT’s ‘Saying Goodbye to Hanukkah’

I have questions about the New York Times’ parenting article, “Saying Goodbye to Hanukkah,” published on Dec. 4, 2020. The piece was written by children’s book author Sarah Prager, a self-described non-Jewish woman whose Jewish father and Catholic mother raised her Unitarian. Throughout her life, she has never observed any Jewish holidays. She recounts how she (like the rest of her extended family) has chosen not to continue her family’s holiday tradition of eating latkes, lighting a menorah on Hanukkah, reciting Hebrew prayers (which, as she explains in her piece, she experienced as meaningless) and decorating their Christmas tree with...
  • The Shroud Of Turin Is Not Jesus' Burial Cloths

Tonight, CNN presented a one hour television documentary special entitled “Finding Jesus: Faith, Fact, Forgery.” I thought this title was inappropriate because the entire episode was about whether or not the Shroud of Turin is the burial cloth of Jesus. Thus, the title should have had “Shroud of Turin” in it or the like. CNN did some advertising of this special, so I think they were a bit deceptive about whole thing. They interviewed some scholars, including Ben Witherington III who is a friend of mine. I am always surprised by the attention given the Shroud of Turin by many...
  • Illegal Immigrants Placed Before American Kids, Forcing Preschool to Close

    Moonbattery ^ | Nov. 15, 2017 | Moonbattery
Basic laws exist as to what is right and what makes sense. Indulging in moonbattery entails rejecting these laws so as to posture on behalf of a deranged ideology. This has consequences: A preschool that leases space from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder is shutting down at the end of the month after the church congregation voted to become a sanctuary for undocumented immigrants facing deportation. “It put us out of business,” said Active Boulder Kids owner Kristen Argow Heaton. The presumably far-left Unitarian congregation voted overwhelmingly to convert part of the building into illegal immigrant living quarters. Argow...

A preschool that leases space from the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder is shutting down at the end of the month after the church congregation voted to become a sanctuary for undocumented immigrants facing deportation. "It put us out of business," said Active Boulder Kids owner Kristen Argow Heaton. About 90 percent of the congregation that attended a church meeting on the matter last month voted to move forward with plans to outfit a portion of the building to provide living quarters for an immigrant taking sanctuary. Argow Heaton said that parents notified the church ahead of the vote that...

The British-born jihadi bride who was married to the most senior American member of ISIS has spoken out, revealing her new life as a suburban mom in Dallas. Tania Georgelas, 33, detailed her radicalization, her dream for her children to become terrorists and the ultimate split with her jihadi husband in a new interview with The Atlantic, released Friday. 'Our dreams were to have land of our own, raise a family and train them be assassins or whatever, soldiers, and then eventually go join the jihad,' she said of her ex-husband John Georgelas, an American-born convert to Islam who has...

The abortion business Planned Parenthood managed to find a few clergy to help promote its pro-abortion agenda in a new video. Planned Parenthood is desperate for support after Americans elected a large group of pro-life leaders to the United States Congress last fall. Efforts to cut off millions of taxpayer funds to the abortion chain are under way. In an appeal to religious individuals, Planned Parenthood produced a new video this week where four pro-abortion clergy members – two Baptist pastors, a Unitarian Universalist pastor and a Jewish rabbi — urged people to support the abortion business, according to the...

PLYMOUTH (CBS) — A woman has been arrested after fire officials say she set a fire in one of the oldest churches in New England. Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the First Parish Church in Town Square shortly after 6:30p.m. Sunday. Officials said a woman inside had put items in the front entryway of the church and set them on fire. The woman allegedly threw items at responders. According to the parish’s Facebook page, the woman had been hiding inside the church after Sunday’s service. The fire caused some damage to the foyer carpeting. No one was hurt.

THIS Christmas our family will go to church. The service is held in a beautiful old church in the charming town of Walpole, N.H., just over the border from Vermont. The Lord’s Prayer hangs on the wall behind the sanctuary. A lectern rises above the nave to let the pastor look down on his flock. The pews and the side stalls have the stern, pure lineaments suited to the Colonial congregation that once came to church to face God. Except that this church is Unitarian. Unitarianism emerged in early modern Europe from those who rejected a Trinitarian theology in preference...

Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church, in Pasadena California describes themselves as, “a religious community where our focus is on living meaningful lives of service, integrity, and joy.” 2014 Alternative Gift Market Shopping List. It is no secret the so-called church supports abortion and especially Planned Parenthood. But, I found their list of interest because their first suggestion is a center for abused children. A Unitarian church in Middlebury Vermont has been attempting to induce people to give their guns to the Government to be destroyed for a price far below market value.  From wcax.com: Minister Barnaby Feder says he recognizes that guns tend to sell for much more than $50 online, but that he hopes this incentive will at least make people aware of the option to dispose of firearms. So far no guns have been brought to the police department for cash. I do not see anyone organizing massive protests over this clear Church/State cooperation.   The money has been turned over...

The joke about Unitarians is that they’re where you go when you don’t know where to go. Theirs is the religion of last resort for the intermarried, the ambivalent, the folks who want a faith community without too many rules. It is perhaps no surprise that the Unitarian Universalist Association is one of the fastest-growing denominations in the country, ballooning 15 percent over the past decade, when other established churches were shrinking. Politically progressive to its core, it draws from the pool of people who might otherwise be “nones” – unaffiliated with any church at all. But within the ranks...
