PLYMOUTH (CBS) A woman has been arrested after fire officials say she set a fire in one of the oldest churches in New England.
Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at the First Parish Church in Town Square shortly after 6:30p.m. Sunday.
Officials said a woman inside had put items in the front entryway of the church and set them on fire. The woman allegedly threw items at responders.
According to the parishs Facebook page, the woman had been hiding inside the church after Sundays service.
The fire caused some damage to the foyer carpeting. No one was hurt.
If a Unitarian Universalist structure is really a church...
She threw “items” at responders? Not very informative. Typical mainstream reporting.
Several of my ancestors and several of my wife’s ancestors established that church. Wonder what the reason was; not that there is a good reason.
Reason? Regular crazy would be preferable to Muslim crazy.
Motive? Was she militant atheist, social justice warrior, islamic or just garden-variety crazy?
Hate crime.
Double UNI rule
When it was established, it would have been Congregationalist. They were Christians then.
I guess the Church of Christ is similar to the original Congregationalist churches.
