Groceries began reappearing on American store shelves this week, thanks to the strength of a supply chain that includes farmers, distributors, wholesalers, and retailers — all of whom are literally risking their lives to stay on duty. A crucial part of that supply chain is the American trucker, who makes sure that goods are delivered in a timely fashion. That is always the case, but it is especially true in the sudden global emergency we face today.

Tucker Carlson reports latest statistics showing 86% of those infected DO NOT KNOW they are infected with COVID-19. So, if you've got it, but don't feel it, with no affects, what exactly is this all about ? Nothing. Nothing except carrying the disease to elders who are at much greater risk. That should be the focus. I chronologically qualify as one of those at greater risk, but still believe this is massively overblown. Certainly not worth shutting down the country and ruining life savings and the economy.

I have spent the last several days like most Americans somewhat baffled, perplexed and even a little nervous at the rapidly unfolding events as to CoVID-19. The community seems to have been divided into two groups, those who are advocating that there is nothing more than the common flu here and that there is vast overreaction, and those that advocate that this is a serious illness that for the safety of all requires drastic measures in order to prevent mass death and tragedy. If one looks closely, it is possible to find everything from death rates calculated at 0.1% -...

A Belgian doctor working to battle the coronavirus says he’s treated several seriously ill young patients — and their lung scans were “nothing short of terrifying,” according to reports. Dr. Ignace Demeyer, who works at a hospital in Aalst, said an increasing number of people between the ages of 30 and 50 have presented with severe symptoms, despite having “blank medical records” that show no underlying conditions that would make them high-risk, the Brussels Times reported. “They just walk in, but they are terribly affected by the virus,” Demeyer told the Belgian broadcaster VRT. He said CT scans indicated they...

“Stealth” coronavirus cases are fueling the pandemic, with a staggering 86% of people infected walking around undetected, a new study says. Six of every seven cases – 86% — were not reported in China before travel restrictions were implemented, driving the spread of the virus, according to a study Monday in the journal Science. “It’s the undocumented infections which are driving the spread of the outbreak,” said co-author Jeffrey Shaman of Columbia University Mailman School, according to GeekWire. Using computer modeling, researchers tracked infections before and after the Chinese city of Wuhan’s travel ban.

Amazon is banning sellers from shipping any non-essential items to its warehouses as it grapples with overwhelming demand for basic staple items as the coronavirus pandemic continues to grow. The Seattle-based e-tailing giant sent an email to sellers Tuesday announcing that it would only be accepting “household staples, medical supplies, and other high-demand products” for the next three weeks so that it can “more quickly receive, restock, and deliver” the products to customers. “We are seeing increased online shopping, and as a result some products such as household staples and medical supplies are out of stock,” Amazon told sellers, according...

When plotted on a logarithmic graph, the graph of the number of cases of an epidemic usually reaches a certain angle, and then eventually begins to flatten out. That brings a HUGE sigh of relief to those in charge of managing an outbreak, and begins when the PERCENT increase in the number of cases declines. You'll very likely continue to have more and more new cases for a while, and you'll certainly have more and more total cases. So, the $100 trillion question is: Is the curve flattening? Through March 8, the number of coronavirus cases in the United States...

Can anyone explain to me how a Governor can just declare restaurants - bars - breweries - wineries - closed? Don’t they have to declare martial law or something beforehand? Do any of these hundreds of thousands of business owners have any recourse? Happening in New York, California, Washington, Pennsylvania.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Tuesday accused Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (D-CA) of sending a “bigoted” message on the coronavirus for noting its place of origin and demanded him to delete his message and “apologize immediately.” McCarthy took to social media on Monday, posting a link to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website to assist Americans in staying informed on the novel coronavirus.

So I'm hearing from various news sources, President Trump would like a Tax Holiday for payroll taxes, but RATs likely won't go along. Now it's being suggested he delay collecting taxes (due April 15) and delay it til later in the year; AND not charge a penalty if you don't pay all your 2019 taxes by April 15th either. Kinda puts a twist on choosing what laws to enforce !!! PS - All this is to help stimulate the economy

Sick and tired of this nonsense... It's time for Trump to step up and declare the media a nuisance that must be reigned in from reporting nonsense. Freedom of the press is fine if the press is reporting the news. When they become hysterical and start damaging the economy to the determent of millions who already live in poverty and decay, it's time to put a kibosh on it... All news regarding this virus should be off limits and reported only by government sources, not liberal minded news outlets with a political agenda of destroying the economy. It's drastic and...

PEORIA — In a post on his Instagram feed, and concurrently on a website, former U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock says he’s gay. He confirmed the post’s authenticity in a text message, and said he would let the statement speak for itself. The former Peoria Republican, who served on the city’s School Board, in the state Legislature, and into his fourth term in Congress, made the following post:

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) celebrated with supporters in his home state of Vermont on Tuesday, proclaiming that he is absolutely confident that he will secure the Democrat nomination, despite Joe Biden (D) racking up victories on Super Tuesday. Doubling down on comments made in a Hulu documentary she had filmed before the 2020 primary season, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' campaign is "just baloney." In an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" with host Linsey Davis, the former 2016 presidential candidate said that her opinion of Sanders and his campaign has not changed. "That was my authentic opinion then; it's my authentic opinion now," she said.

Marianne Williamson (D) blasted coverage of Joe Biden’s (D) Super Tuesday success, stating plainly that his rise should not be considered a “resurrection” but the result of a “coup.” “Jake Tapper referred to the ‘resurrection’ of Joe Biden’s campaign,” the former presidential candidate and self-help guru said in a now-deleted Tweet on Tuesday night.

This is a clip from the 1992 movie "Stalin," with Robert Duvall in the starring role. In this clip, Stalin meets with the peasants and informs them of his "solution" to their problem. Of course, Stalin has a different accent and personal style than Bernie, but his policy sounds very similar. Stalin with the Peasants BTW, Duvall does an excellent job in his portrayal of Stalin. If any of my fellow Freepers are interested in seeing the full movie, it is available for free on YouTube: "Stalin" full movie (2:52:33)

A new book by former First Lady Barbara Bush, published posthumously, gives fresh insight into her historic romance with former President George H. W. Bush. In Pearls of Wisdom: Little Pieces of Advice (That Go a Long Way), released Tuesday, their son Jeb Bush remembers an interaction between his parents shortly before his mother’s death in April 2018 — one that brought the attending hospital staff to tears. “The last time my mom went into the hospital, I think Dad got sick on purpose so he could be with her. That’s my theory, at least, because literally a day later...
