New look at the new Trek incarnation. Overall it looks like a PC mess. White men are almost an after-thought. An overtly gay man on the bridge. Set a decade before TOS. Of course, CGI is many iterations ahead of what has come before and it looks gorgeous. Said to be broadcast worldwide on pay-for-TV CBS offshoot. May explain why the characters are World Government types. Show was due January 2017. Then summer, 2017. Now -- who knows? The original show runner quit and show has been turned-over to others. Casting reportedly still incomplete. Like other Trek fans I am...

My fellow women sisters, what just happened today in France is a big blow (no pun intended) for our cause. A total travesty. Please join me in sisterhood for a women's rights march on the famed Avenue des Champs-Élysées. We are going to take back our vaginas from the oppressive supporters of Macron who defeated Le Pen today. Le Pen did not break the glass ceiling today, thanks to all the misogynist, vagina-grabbing men who voted for Macron.

Emmanuel Macron, the centrist and political newcomer, defeated far-right candidate Marine Le Pen Sunday to win the French presidential election. With all votes counted, the passionately pro-European Union Macron had garnered 66 percent of the vote to just 34 percent for Le Pen, who had promised a “Frexit” referendum should she win the election.

He is describing the Hell that has become the 21st Century: Although Macron’s victory and Moon’s [South Korea] likely triumph will likely be portrayed as a return of electoral politics to the globalist mainstream — a reversal of the Brexit/Trump trend — they are actually the opposite. Both are attempts to solve challenges that have baffled the elite. Hillary Clinton in her latest attempt to reinvent herself revealed an off-beat turn. “I’ve spent decades learning about what it would take to move our country forward, including people who clearly didn’t vote for me. To try to make sure that we...

This is extraordinary. Since Left-fascists screamed at me for an hour and a half, I barely got a word in at the University at Buffalo, but university officials and the local Muslim Brotherhood MSA chapter are apparently so shaken nonetheless by my appearance that they have featured not one, but two events featuring lying Islamic spokesmen to make sure that campus Left-lemmings stay on message and remember that Islam is a religion of peace that has nothing to do with terrorism, despite the ever-growing amount of evidence to the contrary. Ahmadi spokesman Qasim Rashid is a professional liar, or as...

Sorry but I missed it as something came up. Don't see any breaking news here telling me it was a bombshell. If nobody's in an orange jumpsuit, it's a nothing burger.

Watching Shepp Sheppard after trump press conference. He is hate filled just like they are over at CNN. He should be replaced.

First of all, when you know the objective of your adversary, you have to be more savvy. The line of attack from the Democrat Party through the campaign was to tie Donald Trump to Russia, and that intensified after the election. As a former Head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, LTG Flynn should have displayed better situational awareness. No one associated with the Trump campaign, or potential administration figures, should have had any contact with Russian officials. As well, having been in the intelligence community, LTG Flynn should have realized that the potential for someone listening in on conversations was...

Family Guy is no stranger to bashing Christianity and Sunday night’s Christmas episode, “How the Griffin Stole Christmas,” was no exception, featuring Jesus not only mocked, but KICKED at the nativity. While the Griffin family longs to go sledding, Lois tells them to get ready so they can attend church. Peter rudely objects, proclaiming Jesus himself loved sledding, calling it his “second passion” – obviously cheapening the Passion of Christ, the period of suffering Jesus underwent leading up to His death on the Cross for our sins. Lois: All right. You guys ready for church? Peter: Church? What are you,...

"But the actions of the Rogue One writers is a lot more than that. Their tweets, particularly the safety pin emblem, is an obvious attempt to make the film a political statement against Trump and his supporters. The evil Empire is a white supremacist, Trump-esque organization, while the Rebellion are all those scrappy college kids demanding a safe space from the president-elect." Donald Trump tweeted that Saturday Night Live is "unwatchable" and "totally biased," after Alec Baldwin impersonated him in a cold open sketch mocking his tweets. Saturday's episode featured Baldwin as the president-elect constantly distracted by his Twitter feed during a national security briefing. The sketch opened in a classroom, where a high school student named Seth was retweeted by Trump--recalling Trump's real retweet of a 16-year-old named Seth, who attacked CNN over its coverage of Trump's false claim that millions of people voted illegally.

Less than a month after pledging to... rededicate ourselves to the fundamental mission of Times journalism. That is to report America and the world honestly, without fear or favor, striving always to understand and reflect all political perspectives and life experiences in the stories that we bring to you. It is also to hold power to account, impartially and unflinchingly. You can rely on The New York Times to bring the same fairness, the same level of scrutiny, the same independence to our coverage of the new president... They have abandoned their PLEDGE.

Obama and Raul Castro. Disgusting We first ran this piece about 8 months ago, when Obama took his “historic” trip to Cuba. Needless to say, my family’s pretty happy to hear that Fidel Castro, the mass-murdering tyrant who stole so much from them, is dead. Herman suggested I re-post the piece today. My wife is Cuban. If we’re getting technical, she’s Cuban-Italian, but the point is that her father was a Cuban gentleman who - until the Castro brothers took over - owned a hospital in Havana.

First time for me at a family gathering where the host (Liberal), as we were standing ready to eat, at the time when always somebody would suggest someone lead a prayer, said: "Each person please say your own thanks or prayer if you choose to yourself." Anybody else? Is this Trump backlash?

As controversy continues to heat up over whether Barack Obama is a "natural born citizen" and thus constitutionally eligible to be president, Fox News has declared that Obama is "a citizen of the United States." The proclamation came yesterday by Fox News anchor Shepard Smith, who said: "He has produced a birth certificate. It shows his mother gave birth to him in Hawaii. It is stamped and sealed by the state of Hawaii. It is confirmed and Fox News can confirm the president of the United States is a citizen of the United States. Period." Smith never mentioned that typical...

Blog Police Creeps Are George Soros Plants For at least a month now a crew of three or four screen names here on Free Republic have been used to spam post after post all across the board. They have decided that they are Free Republic's police, they think they speak for the whole board, and have been attempting to drive people off this site. But are they real FReepers? Or are they something else? It is pretty clear that they are being paid to do this by a George Soros-styled, left wing organization to spam FR, attack posters, and attempt...

No fan of McCain here ... but Huckabee is a loser.

You rallied behind someone who never had their heart in the race and was never a leader in their life (Thompson) or never had a chance in hell (Hunter). What is needed more than anything to win the WH is a drive to do the spade work necessary to get there. So by denying Romney victory in IA and NH and SC, and splitting the field, you now have probably the worst enemy of all - someone the Wonderful Mr. Jim Robinson never saw fit to put a 'truth file' on. So, nice work.

The first state results to be reported on Super Tuesday came from the Republican Caucus in West Virginia. The result was that Mike Huckabee got all the delegates from that state to the Republican Convention. What makes the story really interesting is, HOW he got those delegates. From the report I have, here’s how the delegates voted in round one: * Romney 464 * Huckabee 375 * McCain 176 * Paul 118 Ron Paul, who got the fewest votes, was dropped from the ballot for the next round of voting. The results then became: * Huckabee 524 * Romney 479...

Huckabee came in second to Mitt Romney in the first round of voting, finishing with 33% to Romney's 41%, the AP reported earlier. John McCain, finishing third with 15%, survived to the second round, while Ron Paul finished fourth, at 10%, and was eliminated. Amid rumors of a deal between backers of Huckabee and McCain, Huckabee secured 52% of the delegates in the second round, to Romney's 47%. McCain's goal in throwing support to Huckabee is designed to deprive Romney of a win early in the day.
