US President Donald Trump's pullout from the Paris Agreement will push up global temperatures nearly half a degree Celsius (0.9 degrees Fahrenheit) by 2100, according to a report released Wednesday at UN climate talks in Bonn. If all countries—including the United States—honour carbon-cutting pledges under the 196-nation treaty, the world would see 2.8 C of global warming above pre-industrial levels, the Climate Action Tracker (CAT) research group had previously calculated. That is not nearly good enough to avoid climate catastrophe, scientists say. The Paris pact, adopted in 2015, calls for capping the rise at "well below" 2 C, and even...

Humans are likely responsible for 93 - 123% of Earth’s net global warming after 1950, says a blockbuster climate report issued on Friday. The Climate Science Special Report is the first product released by the Fourth National Climate Assessment (NCA); the core assessment itself, focusing on impacts, will be released in 2018. The NCA is an congressionally mandated quadrennial effort by hundreds of U.S. scientists to assess how the climate is changing in the United States. The project is carried out by the U.S. Global Change Research Program. Preparation of the report included workshops around the nation, a public-comment period...

Does Hurricane Harvey prove the man-made Global Warming threat? Yes - Human activity is to blame for the destruction No - Harvey was the first Category 3+ hurricane to reach the U.S. in almost 12 years I'm not sure

Irony so thick, you need a shovel for it and perhaps an ice ax. In May, an expedition that set out to gather global warming evidence in the Arctic was forced to call it off. Why? Because the ice was too thick and the icebreaker was needed to rescue other ships. So much for that whole ‘global warming’ thing. The research vessel Amundsen was redirected by the Canadian Coast Guard to clear fishing lanes for boats and supply vessels. That includes the dreaded ‘oil tankers’. “The Science Team of the Canadian Research Icebreaker CCGS Amundsen has canceled the first leg...

Lake Erie water levels have risen to a near record high, causing flood concern for nearby homeowners. Cleveland.com reports Lake Erie's last reading put the body of water at 574 feet (175 meters), just 7.3 inches (19 centimeters) shy of an all-time high in 1986. Environmental officials say heavy rains and months of melting snow are responsible for the recent hike in water levels. They say high water levels will surge even more if strong storms continue to drench the region. Residents with lakefront properties say they've lost patios and staircases due to the rising water and subsequent flooding.

Q: What were the five mass extinctions in Earth's history? A: Quick Answer The five mass extinctions in Earth's history occurred at or near the end of the Ordovician, Devonian, Permian, Triassic and Cretaceous periods. Four of these served as the effective border between one period and the next, while the Devonian extinction occurred over a period of 20 million years in the Devonian twilight. The species lost in each extinction ranged from between 60 to 96 percent of life on Earth. Continue Reading

POLL: Should President Trump heed the Pontiff's warning about global warming? Yes, and quickly before the earth is destroyed. No. Global Warming is a hoax.

Exploring some of the intricacies of GW [Global Warming] science can lead to surprising results that have major consequences. In a recent invited talk at the Heartland Institute’s ICCC-12 [Twelfth International Conference on Climate Change], I investigated three important topics: 1. Inconsistencies in the surface temperature record. 2. Their explanation as artifacts arising from the misuse of data. 3. Thereby explaining the failure of IPCC to find credible evidence for anthropogenic global warming (AGW).

Glacier flow at the southern Antarctic Peninsula has increased since the 1990s, but a new study has found the change to be only a third of what was recently reported. An international team of researchers, led by the UK Centre for Polar Observation and Modelling at the University of Leeds, is the first to map the change in ice speed. The team collated measurements recorded by five different satellites to track changes in the speed of more than 30 glaciers since 1992. The findings, published today in Geophysical Research Letters, represent the first detailed assessment of changing glacier flow in...

Presentation by David Wilcock that presents facts showing that our Earth is not the only planet in the solar system that is heating up. Solar activity is the driving force that is causing planetary warming.

On Thursday, new EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt appeared on CNBC's "Squawk Box," and made a statement that has gotten a lot of attention. The statement was: "I think that measuring with precision human activity on the climate is something very challenging to do and there's tremendous disagreement about the degree of impact, so, no, I would not agree that it's a primary contributor to the global warming that we see." I would have said that that statement was just a rather obvious truism. I mean, we have an enormously complex climate system, affected by literally dozens of factors, many of...

The western world is in an apparent state of crisis. Each year brings more data on declining soil fertility, loss of fresh water, dangerous swings in global temperature and much else. In light of these truths the conscientious consumer seeks to do good, to participate in saving the planet in the greatest altruistic experiment of them all; to buy green. Unfortunately, our ecological warrior is generally unwilling to do too much. They still commute to work, participate in productive white collar labor, fly on air planes, purchase needless consumer goods, and eat outrageously varied diets (you live in New York,...

Americans are split geographically on the topic of climate change, sometimes by county lines or congressional districts, according to new data released by Yale University's Program on Climate Change Communication. The Climate Opinion Maps give Americans an interactive glimpse into the country's view of threats from global warming. The survey results are sortable on the study's website, allowing users to see the Americans' opinions on climate change at a state, county and even metro level.

More Evidence of a Wet Sahara by Jake Hebert, Ph.D. * Scientists from the University of Arizona recently announced that what is now the Sahara desert was once wet and green and extended as far north as the Mediterranean Sea.1,2 The scientists examined chemical clues found within leaf waxes preserved in four marine sediment cores located off the northwestern African coast. Plants experience subtle changes in the chemical composition of their wax, depending upon the wetness or dryness of the climate. Because leaf wax washes into the oceans, it can be preserved in sediment cores extracted from the ocean floor....

They were duped – and so were we. That was the conclusion of last week’s damning revelation that world leaders signed the Paris Agreement on climate change under the sway of unverified and questionable data. A landmark scientific paper –the one that caused a sensation by claiming there has been NO slowdown in global warming since 2000 – was critically flawed. And thanks to the bravery of a whistleblower, we now know that for a fact. The response has been extraordinary, with The Mail on Sunday’s disclosures reverberating around the world. There have been nearly 150,000 Facebook ‘shares’ since last...

Today is the hottest day in the history of the universe. And so was yesterday. And the day before that. And the day before that. The hottest day ever. The hottest week ever. The hottest year ever. Ever. Hotter even than the big bang. The picture above is allegedly the latest picture from NASA/NOAA showing the effect of global warming. This is an extraordinary claim. As they say, extraordinary claims demand extraordinary proof. What is one to do so that one wants to make extraordinary claims and the extraordinary proof is how to come by? One gets creative, and that's what those rascals...
