My run in happened 8 years ago. Maybe that is a recent change forced on USAA after enough of us had to change? I pulled this from your link...$176 per month

The average monthly cost for all USAA auto policies issued in Alabama in 2023

I picked up auto with ALFA, full coverage for $58 and change.

“Maybe Ken Paxton can take a look into USAA’s practices.”

That’s a great idea! He’s good about tamping down nonsense there in TX.

Great outfit when I first joined in 1979.

They became too successful.

They had loads of cash laying around.

They decided they needed to do something with that money.

They started to hire more employees that were not needed.

They started to become a social services organization instead of an insurance company for military Officers.

Then, the board started to worry about everyone but their customers.

They needed to make San Antonio better for themselves and the employees.

They built a theme park in San Antonio.

They built a retirement community in San Antonio.

They went into the stock market.

They started to hire executives with little to no military experience.

They panicked over the military drawdown.

They opened up membership to Enlisted personnel.

They spent money like crazy on advertising.

The board loaded up with women who wanted to use the resources of USAA for their personal political and social goals.

Recently, the board decided to use the member’s money to hand out to their chosen sad stories.

USAA is no longer focused on being a low cost, quality auto insurance provider.

The board members need to resign and go to work for philanthropy organizations.

The new board members need to clean out the executives and focus on one thing: providing quality, low cost auto insurance to their members.

Time for patriots to put their money where their mouths are.

It decades past that time. Our failure to do that over 20 years ago is why the rot has gotten this far.

I HOPE thousands of veterans and current military members leave both of those banks. It would certainly show them that their actions have consequences.

They also took $50 million of members money and gave it to terrorist organizations like BLM.

I have gotten quotes from them for auto and home insurance.
They are always the highest quote in the bunch.
By a longshot.

AG Paxton has no authority over the banking side of USAA, which has a Federal charter. However, there may be some room on the insurance side, as that is state regulated.

Same here. They are never the cheapest anymore. All I have with them is a credit card since they sold off their brokerage business.

When I joined USAA in 1982, you had to be an officer to join. Then, later on, they decided to allow enlisted to join. That’s when it started going to sh*t. I’m also a member of Navy Federal Credit Union. Looks like I’ve got some soul searching to do. I won’t put up with any company that plays politics with their business. This sh*t is for the birds.
