Its a prescription drug. Shop around for a different doctor.
Get another doctor. This one is willing to kill you over politics.
Which state are you in?
while you are buying your own, maybe you may wish to also find another doctor?
the trifecta of pills including hydroxcloroquine has some very impressive clinical trials showing its effectiveness
that i think no competent doctor would pass this treatment by, especially since there’s only one other that has (just begun) to show any value
having a second doctor even for occasional consultation isn’t a bad idea, at any event. just a thought
best,
Get a doctor that pays attention to other than his politics.
I don’t know myself but no doubt there are other doctors who would be agreeable.

If you knew anyone taking a cruise soon (which I guess isn’t happening at all now), you probably could have them pick up some in one of the ports at a pharmacy.
I know it sounds creepy, but my friend who works for one of the upscale lines, used to get hers in Mexico. That was 25 years ago, so I don’t know about now.
Sorry. It’s speaktoanmd.com
Can you get to a walk in clinic? They may only run about $50 or so. The doctors there may be more accommodating.

I am not a doctor. But I treat myself.
I take quercetin and zinc. over the counter. the quercetin is the ionophore sp? like HQC and the zinc is the killer. some one here on FR recommended.
Perhaps, you could tell the doctor you are moving to south America immediately and need malaria medication.
Get some quercetin (mimics what HCQ does) and zinc....and, Vit C.
We’ve been taking it, since March.
Dr Zev Zelenko (and other docs) has been recommending it, if you can’t get HCQ.
You could also try a tele doc (online/app doc).
Good luck.
Aren’t there walk-in clinics in your area that would be willing to prescribe for you? You say your Medicare Supplement has you ‘locked in’, but the cost of an appointment and the scrip shouldn’t be all that expensive to pay out of pocket if you are worried for your life.
It sounds as if you aren’t sick yet, so you do have some time to look around. Good luck to you.
Why doe your Doc not want to give you the meds?
Unfortunately there are very few doctors left who dont work for a hospital.
They must follow hospital protocol and can only prescribe what the hospital says they can. Those who break protocol are reprimanded.
