I wonder if they are using some ridiculously broad definition of rape, like "have you ever felt emotionally pressured to have sex?" I doubt it's that broad, but this is always something worth keeping in mind when feminists release another rape study.

For what it's worth...
I can't speak for Utah, but I have been amazed at what I have learned since my divorce. I have dated 6 women. 4 of them have been raped. 2 were attacked as children, the other 2 as adults. I have no doubt that they ar telling the trouth.
My female friends tell me that I am just the kind of guy who women feel safe around, and are just willing to open up to. I asked them if this seemed strange or if what I was seeing was normal. Every one of them said that I am probably not meeting a much higher percentage of victims, but that the world is just a much worse place than I want to believe.

And they don't even have a Pro Sports team in Utah (anymore). Think about the stats if they had a few hundred football, basketball, and baseball players running around.

As long as the sex act was done in private, force is not relevant.

Having never been to Utah, I must ask. What is it about Utah that causes this?

About three years ago when the FBI released its annual crime figures for American cities, some wacko group tried to claim that the data showed that Salt Lake City had one of the highest crime rates in the country. The media bellowed about how dangerous Salt Lake is ( I knew this was nonsense. I live here).
Turns out that the data included horrible "crimes" like school truancy, jaywaking, underage smoking, walking dogs without a leash, and the like. Once real crimes were counted, Salt Lake moved almost to the bottom of the crime list.
The media finally quoted a police detective saying that if you aren't involved in drugs or gangs, your chances of being a crime victim in Salt Lake City are almost nil. This rape rate stuff is just another bunch of destructive feminist wackiness.

At least once a year, the idiots drag this stuff out and put in on display; if the rate was that high, even I would rethink abortion.

A few years ago, in a Sunday School class, a guy asserted that ninety percent of women will be raped. I thought that was out of whack, but didn't know the real numbers, and assumed he wouldn't say something like that unless it was true. Then I looked up the statistics and found it was the exact opposite.
He married a domineering feminist and became a lawyer. Any questions, class?

Sounds like that B.S. radio commercial that says one in five kids in America goes to bed hungry each night.
With all the social and food assistance programs in the USA there better not be ANY child going hungry.
Go to any Walmart and see how many overweight kids there are then try and run this story by me again.
