the public request by a US Military Captain, from citizens of a foreign nation, to judge whether US military personnel can fight in this war, is an outrage. If they had any qualms about fighting other muslims, they should have requested immediate discharge as conscientious objectors

My point was they probably didn't have any qualms when they enlisted, but the many Muslim clerics reiterating this message might INDUCE such qualms, and it is better to counteract the message directly and reassure the servicemen than to let them become conscientious objectors.

I really feel sorry for any wife, husband, mother or child of a non-muslim military man or woman, reading this. It's hard enough to say good-bye, knowing the danger they face, without worrying if their backs are covered -- or not -- due to the "religious" qualms of a fellow soldier, none of whom were forced to enlist.

This is true. What should have come out a month ago, has finally come out.

However, it is my opinion, that they finally realized, that they better get on the winning side, or they may find their own head coverings suddenly have laser red dots on them.

That is not good. Seems like complete nonsense. I would be very reluctant to trust my life in combat to Muslim even if they were Americans. That fatwah thing just mud the waters more. For me it is a guarantee that they can turn on you when you need them more and it serves to give them cover so they can stay in the places they have among our troops. It solves nothing in the hour of truth it serves nothing. Even the liberal Muslim divides the world in two, them and the infidels. I see it very hard that they would turn on another Muslims no matter what.
