Campaign fund-raising has been the great passion -- indeed, the only passion -- of Gov. Gray Davis' career. From his days in the Assembly until today, he has been a tireless, even obsessive, solicitor of funds who has amazed friends and foes alike with the energy he brings to most politicians' least favorite task, the schmoozing of the rich and powerful.

The U.S. Constitution guarantees each State a republican form of government. The larceny of Gray Davis is manifest. Time for Ashcfoft to announce the US Dept. of Justice to begin investigations into California government.

"Garry South, sent a threatening letter during bill-signing season to major donors telling them that "the whole world" would know if they contributed to Davis' opponent.

That is extortion.
I'll wager that Garry South is an avid reader of Stalin biographies

I would imagine the Democrats will treat this as they treated every other scandal to hit one of their 'star' players.

Yes. I can almost hear the spin grinder warming up. And the flying spin-monkeys are set to take off.

You have to realize what the Governorship of California means to them. It is the only major executive office they control in the nation. The California State budget is the only large pot of government revenue they can feed their constituencies with.

Agreed.

Hundreds of thousands of Democrats might have to look for real jobs for the first time in their careers.

But let's not overlook their most significant skill: rigging elections. They are real pros.

Here are the Top 10 states in population:

1. California
2. Texas
3. New York
4. Florida
5. Illinois
6. Pennsylvania
7. Ohio
8. Michigan
9. New Jersey
10. Georgia

California, New Jersey and Georgia have Democrat governors now. NJ and GA aren't chump change and the Democrats are happy to have them-- and in GA, the legislature is Democrat and in NJ, the legislature is split (tied and Democrat). They do love having California, but regardless of Davis, they have a very good chance of picking up IL, PA, and MI off this list this November to counteract the loss.

Also below the Top 10, the Democrats fair much better. Here are the next several states on the list: NC (D), VA (D), MA (R, but could easily go D in Nov.), IN (D), WA (D), TN (R, but could easily go D in Nov.), and MO (D).

I guess I don't understand the criteria for breaking news, because I put it there - - believing that the fact an editorial by the Bee came out today, and called for a US Attorney probe, was indeed big, breaking news. But it was pulled. !? Oh, well, I'll get the hang of things eventually.

The spectacle of the DNC publicly involving themselves in this would be a sight to see. I'd love to see the DNC again explain how they aren't the party that defends the indefensible.

Hey some of these donations or demands for donations are getting into serious levels:

The news of the Oracle contribution came on the same day that the governor's appointees on the state Building Standards Commission voted, against the original recommendation of its own staff and at the behest of the plumbers union, to block the use of plastic pipe to carry water into homes. The decision makes California one of two states to bar the use of the pipe, which is less expensive to install. The plumbers have contributed $1.3 million to the governor.

It came the day after the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Davis has asked for $1 million each from the California Teachers Association, the Council of Carpenters and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

The old fascist, Benito II Davis, received 1.3 million in payment from the plumber thug unions for screwing every home buyer in Kali. Then he is using bamboo splinters as he demands $1 million each from the other four unions!

It is time for the building industry to use Rico laws on the Plumbers Union and governor's appointees on the state Building Standards Commission who voted, against the original recommendation of its own staff and at the behest of the plumbers union, to block the use of plastic pipe to carry water into homes.

Yep get some tough conservative lawyers and use the Rico Act to sue these bastards in the union and Davis's flunkee appointees. They should be easy to fry. How much did Davis's flunkee apointments get paid by the Plumbers Union for this outrageous crime against home buyers in Kali.

STOP CRIMINALS/ABORT DAVIS!
