State police said 800 gallons of diesel fuel was stolen from a fuel truck parked at a construction site in South Middleton Township, Cumberland County, overnight Tuesday or Wednesday.
The incident marks the second major diesel theft in Cumberland County in less than two weeks, police said.
Based on the current AAA price scale, the stolen fuel is worth $3,364.
Anyone with information can call state police at 717-249-2121.
I know some farmers who put water in their farm gasoline tanks. The people who thought they were stealing gas usually got less then 1/8th mile before having to abandon the car. Repairs for their cars were expensive.
Word got out & other theives decided not to steal water anymore.
and so it begins...
That’s just beautiful...
The Carter Years. Lovely. I see locking gas caps in our future.
Hand drills will punch through the soft steel of the tank itself. Not a problem.
I drive an F-250 and my mechanic a few weeks ago told me it’s best to have at least 10 gallons in my aft tank.
Just sitting in the tank, doing nothing! I asked him what gas prices were on his planet.
Rust is the problem. Need to have the fuel sloshing around or water will eat the tank.
Reminds me of the Farmer and the stolen watermelon story:
A farmer was having problems with students at the local university coming into his fields at night on weekends and stealing his watermelons for their frat parties.
He got a sign and put it out by the road that read:
ONE OF THESE WATERMELONS IS POISONED!
STEAL AT YOUR OWN RISK!
The next weekend no watermelons were stolen, but the sign had been changed:
TWO OF THESE WATERMELONS ARE POISONED...........
Carry a bar of soap
Any how, my tank is armored.
Yes indeed
I just want them to make certain that no fertilizer is also missing.
So far, no one has tried to steal these dairy farmers fertilizer:)
I was talking about Ammonium Nitrate that could be mixed to make ANFO. I suspect you knew that ;^)!
