Good analysis. For many (perhaps a majority) secularized Jews, a kind of mushy, left-wing ideology has replaced Judaism as their faith. There remain, however, positive and increasingly strong bonds between Orthodox Jews and conservative Christians.

Many years ago Arthur Krock said, "..The only difference between the platform of the Democrat Party and Reform Judaism is the Holidays." Liberalism is a religion and a major religion at that.
To: SJackson
Well it would be darned nice of observant Jews to repudiate the work of the Frankfurt School.

I'd say it's been that way for a while. I'm Christian and had to stand up for Israel a number of times while talking to American Jews. I'd have to say that I dislike the majority of American Jews that I have met. If we were to have a Jew-swap with Israel, the US would be that much stronger and Israel would fall within the week.
To: SJackson
Not that it won't change but Prophecy rightly indicates that only a very small remnant in Israel will be true belivers in Jesus at the end. So this statement about American Christians being largely those who care about Israel is proportional to the dispersal worlwide who are the True Church as represented in Christian belief!

Good article. Many of us wonder why, with millions and millions of Christians worldwide, no one in the press thinks to ask Christians what they think about the destruction of their most Holy sites by Muslims in Israel. No outrage from the un-knowing press about sacred Judeo-Christian sites bulldozed and built over by Muslims, though Mohammed and his religion are 600 years younger than Christ, and over 3000 years younger than Abraham and Judaism. If the polls are correct and 80% of the press does not believe in God, we need some new journalists fast who know enough to ask the important questions and represent the majority of people in our nation.

These days, it seems US Christians care more about Israel than American Jews do. Unfortunately this is somewhat true. But not entirely true.

But I thought all those horrible fundamentalist Christians were all neo-Nazis and hated Jews and Israel? You mean what the SPLC tells me may not be the whole truth? I'm shocked...

..it would be darned nice of observant Jews to repudiate the work of the Frankfurt SchoolBut they do.. Most orthodox congregations don't recognize Reform conversions and have little to do with their rabbinate, in general. The big Reform issue nowadays is getting Reform Judaism set up in a big way in Israel, but theyre not making much headway, and have little sympathy from the Orthodoxy here
Many of the "liberals with Jewish last names" will be virtually assimilated in the larger body politic two generations hence, so this "anomolous situation" should generally take care of itself, with time..
To: SJackson
I think you're right. The liberal Jews think that Israel shouldn't defend itself. The liberal American Jew does a lot of harm to Israel.
The liberal Jews want to keep doves like Clinton and Gore in office. This compromises the security of the USA and Israel.

Read your profile. Your interrests, Missippi, ok not KY or TN. Irish, not Scot. A question (not a joke or put down; see how fast you can find it).Do you know the source ot the term "redneck". Hint, Thomas Sowell or Univ of Ala.

Liberalism after a certain point, is a form of mental illness.

I can live that :) .... oh an Hollywood might be stretched pretty thin on talent.

Not that it won't change but Prophecy rightly indicates that only a very small remnant in Israel will be true belivers in Jesus at the end.
And there was a small remnant at the end of Jerusalem in 70 AD as prophecy indicated. The rest were harshly judged as never before for spilling the blood of the prophets.
So this statement about American Christians being largely those who care about Israel is proportional to the dispersal worlwide who are the True Church as represented in Christian belief!
I agree with this conclusion. There is a certain loyalty to those whom God chose to reveal the "Oracles of God".
Not to mention they are the more justified group over there trying to survive.
