Bill and Hillary Clinton are legally separated.

The words "Bill and Hillary Clinton" and "legally" in the same sentence should be illegal.

14. Andrew Cuomo is the next Governor of New York

No way. If McCall stays in the race it will be impossible for Cuomo to mend the fences he has to in order to have a high black turnout (necessary to beat Pataki). It'll play like NYC 2001-- but with a much larger margin for Pataki than Bloomberg, because the state is not as liberal-leaning as NYC.

#13 is clearly a NO. The GOP will not gain or lose any seats prior to 12/31/02. Regardless of the November election outcomes, the GOP and the Dems will have the same number of members on 12/31/02 as they do today (barring deaths and stuff). The newly elected members will not be inagurated until sometime in January 2003.

Just a little helping hand for those answering the questions.

1. Osama bin Layden will be at large.

Nope. No way...no how.

2. The Yankees will win the 2002 World Series

Duh. Of course they would...if you can't buy a world series for 170 million there is something wrong.

3. The GOP controls the Senate

Depends on the condition of the war and Bush's approval rating. I lean towards yes.

4. There is a new Pope

Yes

5. Amazon.com files for bankruptcy

Nope. Amazon may hit troubled waters...but they are very innovative over there

6. Strom Thurmond, Helen Thomas, AND Robert Byrd are ALL alive

I don't think Strom will hold out. But Helen will be with us when my daughter is President.

7. US AIR is still flying as an independent airline.

Yes.

8. There will be another terrorist incident inside the US

This is almost a given

9. Bill and Hillary Clinton are legally separated.

Nope. Bill is too good at fundraiseing and Hill needs the cash for the Dem 2004 ticket

10. Duke wins the 2002 NCAA mens basketball title

Sure, why not.

11. The DOW closes above 10,000 on 12/31/2002

I'd venture to say the Dow will close at 11500.

12. There is a new CONFIRMED Justice on the US Supreme Court

There will be a nominee, but no new justice. They will wait until the new congress seats before confirming.

13. The GOP gains 10 or more seats in the House

No.

14. Andrew Cuomo is the next Governor of New York

No

15. Yasser Arafat is still alive.

Yes

16. The HP/Compaq merger is cancelled.

yes

17. Saddam Hussein is still in power in Iraq

Yes...but not much further into 2003

18. The St. Louis Rams win the 2002 Super Bowl

Kurt Warner will throw 4 interceptions in the NFC championship game and lose to Chicago

19. Chandra Levy is found.

Never.

20. Fidel Castro is alive.

Yes
