A client of mine does this each year. He borrowed the idea from National Review, which used to do it each year. So I added a few of my own, and post it for your perusal and enjoyment.

6. Strom Thurmond, Helen Thomas, AND Robert Byrd are ALL alive
7. US AIR is still flying as an independent airline.
8. There will be another terrorist incident inside the US
9. Bill and Hillary Clinton are legally separated.
10. Duke wins the 2002 NCAA mens basketball title
11. The DOW closes above 10,000 on 12/31/2002
12. There is a new CONFIRMED Justice on the US Supreme Court
13. The GOP gains 10 or more seats in the House
14. Andrew Cuomo is the next Governor of New York
15. Yasser Arafat is still alive.
16. The HP/Compaq merger is cancelled.
17. Saddam Hussein is still in power in Iraq
18. The St. Louis Rams win the 2002 Super Bowl
19. Chandra Levy is found.
20. Fidel Castro is alive.

No way. If McCall stays in the race it will be impossible for Cuomo to mend the fences he has to in order to have a high black turnout (necessary to beat Pataki). It'll play like NYC 2001-- but with a much larger margin for Pataki than Bloomberg, because the state is not as liberal-leaning as NYC.
Now that's just too safe a bet.
