I think it was barbaric. Historically, it puts one in mind of the bombing of the King David Hotel, in 1948 by Jewish Irgun terrorists.
Unlike some on Free Republic, I hate to see innocents die, no matter what race, religion or creed they belong to.
Apparently you didn't understand the article. It's just as we've been saying all along, the Bush administration is giving cover for this operation. They know full well what Arafat is and Israel is providing the hard evidence. The confusing message that is coming out of DC is intentional. People can grouse and moan all they want about the "confused" message, but it's very deliberate.
The terrorists are being rounded up, the Palestinian people will end up with their own state, and Arafat is going to end up neutered.
Will Israel and the US be able to deal with him? Sure, after this is all over he's going to know that he is useless and the powers that be will know it too. They are stripping his organization right out from under him.
