No one denied voting rights in Florida? What about the military?!! Sailors from the Cole had their votes thrown out and LIEberman went on three consecutive Sunday news shows to say he "hadn't heard."

DOJ Says No Credible Evidence That Any Florida Residents Intentionally Denied Voting Rights in 2000

Did they look at military members and their dependents who are citizens of Florida but stationed elsewhere? I seem to recall bunches of them having their voting rights denied, in violation of federal law on the subject.

Hmmmm. lesssee. Only U.S. citizens are qualified to vote in U.S. elections. A working knowledge of English is (supposedly) required for U.S. citizenship. So WTF should any bi-lingual assistance be provided at the polls?

"Motor Voter" is just another turd the Clintoon gang dropped in the American punchbowl.

In another of the other three counties - again, the county was not specified - the investigation found two cases of Haitian-American voters being denied language assistance, Boyd said.

Is it just me, or am I wrong to think that people should know our language before they can vote? How can you read the Constituition, listen to candidates debate, etc, if you don't know the language?

Would anyone care to speculate on which party was in charge of the elections in those counties and thus made any supposed mistakes that led to so-called voting irregularities and therefore would be responsible for any alleged problems?

Hint: the same party that approved the oh-so-difficult butterfly ballot.

...one of the three counties...may have employed too few bilingual workers, causing delays in providing assistance...."This may have resulted in at least 26 voters choosing to leave the polls,"...

...investigators confirmed that a clerk denied poll watchers permission to help four voters who asked for bilingual assistance....

In another of the other three counties...the investigation found two cases of Haitian-American voters being denied language assistance, Boyd said...

I've got the fix for all of this...Learn English!

With the exception of military service absentee voters, I agree with their assessment.

Assist. AG Boyd is right to end this, because we have no chance of getting honest press. They were still doing recounts on 9-11. Mary Frances and her allies are blinded with hate and years of getting away with it. She, like most Democrats, doesn't even understand when she's being given a gracious way out. As a Florida Republican, I wish we could take her on in a class action suit.
Non-Voted Ballots and Discrimination in Florida -

John Lott ("More Guns, Less Crime") shows that contrary to the Dem./press accusations of "Republican racism" during the 2000 Presidential election in Florida, the largest block of "disenfranchised" voters were black Republicans in the Dem. precincts.

What's more, Mary Frances Berry and the Dems./press knew this. The "Civil Rights" report left out the Lott report...though sound because she claimed that he did it for free, thus somehow making it legal to ignore it.

Further reading:
The mainstream media made no mention, except in one short quote in the middle of a "republicans are racist" piece in the NY Times, and the original, short-lived John Lott editorial in the LA Times.

Disenfranchised Blacks in Florida:
Black Republicans are a small minority in Florida, about one for every 20 black Democrats. But, as Lott pointed out in the Los Angeles Times, "This is a large number when you consider that the election in the state was decided by fewer than 1,000 votes."

The new findings likely would be an interesting footnote to the Florida recount battles if they didn't explicitly contradict the central claim of a hasty report by the heavily Democratic U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. The commission argued that blacks in general had been "nearly 10 times more likely to have their ballots declared invalid." Lott says his findings established that this figure is impossible to verify.

....But the new data show that if there was any deliberate effort to suppress votes, it was "not because of race but because of party," Lott reported in a recent Los Angeles Times article. He reveals that a "wide range" of factors influence spoiled-ballot rates, including "education, gender, income, age, number of absentee votes, voting-machine type, ballot type and whether votes were counted at the precinct or centrally." But it is the "isolated fact of being a Republican that makes an African-American vastly more likely to have his or her ballot declared invalid" than by any other identifiable standard. .

The LA Times article disappeared from the web shortly after it was published.

Also, from Policy Review Online:

A study by John Lott reports black Republican voters were an astonishing 50 to 66 times more likely than the average black to have a spoiled ballot, and that black Democratic voters actually had a slightly lower spoilage rate than the average voter. His findings also seem inconsistent with any conspiracy by white or Republican election supervisors, since the rate of spoiled ballots was 14 percent to 31 percent higher in precincts with black or Democratic election supervisors. The overall rate of spoiled ballots was also higher for white Republican voters than white Democratic voters.

Orange, Miami-Dade and Osceola were all in Gore's top 26 out of 67 Florida counties for #Dem votes vs. registered Dems. and were in President Bush's bottom 25 counties for Republican votes vs. registered Republicans. Both Miami-Dade and Osceola were Votomatic punch card ballot counties. While the press claimed that Votomatics cost Gore votes, the reality is very different. Through readily available data on the state's websites re. election 2000, we find that Gore's Votomatic counties (13) were all in his top 50% of Dem. votes received vs. registered Dems. Bush's Votomatic counties were all in his bottom 50% Republican votes received/ registered Republicans...poke a Gore hole in a Bush ballot, invalidate a Bush vote...count it an "overcount."

Just in case someone refuses to drop the false accusations gracefully....and, yes, the military deserves a Big Time apology.

Am I the only one who noticed the totally liberal B.S. phrasing in the opening sentence?
"...in the state that handed George W. Bush his margin of victory..."

Also, they didn't mention those who voted despite the fact that they were CONVICTS or DEAD!
I guess it's because they weren't disenfranchised.

You will only need to look for the tall buildings to see the DUers jumping after they read this. It will drive them and all the other Lib-Dom-Soc-Comm nuts. Of course, to them, it will be a conspiracy and totally expected from such a corrupt administration. Yahoo!
