This is about as pathetic as one can get with political correctness.

How about hearing from you folks in Texas?

Sounds like those idiots would prefer a motto like "Forget The Alamo." Unbelievable.

We have the longest-running form of government in the world; our constitution is the oldest of them all.

However, we are giving it all away. Republics like ours can't last unless they are defended.

External enemies won't kill us...we are rotting from within.

How long till we wake up and realize that our former country of our youth is gone? Kids today don't know the difference unless they are privately schooled or homeschooled.

New Mexican?

Well, New Mexico did defeat Texas in the Civil War at the Battle of Glorietta pass. I'll bet they'd like to forget that...

As a transplanted Yankee my history is alittle spotty but...

I suppose we could chant, "Remember San Jacinto!" I think that was a "small" engagement where Texas patriots kicked some major Mexican butt!!!!!

This viewpoint is absolutely ridiculous and incredibly offensive to this Texan. I don't care who likes it or dislikes it, we fought and died for that land. Mexicans fought and died, too. They lost. We won and created a bastion of freedom and a land of pride, self respect and a gracious integrity which will not be wiped away because somebody's feelings might get hurt.

It's about damn time "immigrants" started seeing themselves as Americans rather than as strangers in a strange land with no allegiance to that land and the values held by its peoples.

If those seeking to "change" Texas history simply to coddle people think they're in for an easy road, they've got another thing coming. They better not expect to be successful in initiating this change. We've fought a war or two and we know how to win.

That a Texan enough response for ya? REMEMBER THE ALAMO! (and thanks Juan Antonio, for bringing this to light)

Remember that the Texican revolution was a lawful revolt against Mexico, and that most of the people defending the Alamo were Mexican citizens, and this makes absolutely no sense, except to denigrate the winners of the Texican revolution!

Even before that Texas thought that their western border should have been the Rio Grande. They sent some folks over to tell the New Mexicans. They got lost. The New Mexicans chewed them up and spit them out. Texas whipped the Mexicans but the New Mexicans whipped the Texans.

Political correctness at it's worst. They'll have the Anglo kids apologizing to the Mexican kids for their ancestors fighting back in that war.

In 30 years, or less, 9-11 will be rewritten so we won't offend the Islamic extremists.

There's a lot of places in Texas where you'll find many more Mexican flags displayed than the American flag. Not all intend to be Americans but they do want our money.

It will fit right in with the "argument at Bunker Hill" or is "argument" too harsh?

I'd love to boot everyone of them out of the teaching profession! I can imagine what they say about the Founding Fathers and our the documents they crafted.

I was in a conversation with a relative yesterday and she had asked me if a person in my town was arrested for defending himself with a gun while some robbers broke into his store. I then went on to ask if she had ever heard of the 2nd Ammend. and she said she didn't know what it was.

This from someone who substitute teaches in a public school!!!!!!!!

Didn't Mexico win at the Alamo? How would reminding them of that fact be insulting?

Exactly. Let's blame it on the breakdown of society. It takes a village, you know, to keep people safe from harm's way.
