I followed the link and read the article from the Post web site, so I saw the picture of the perp. But reading just the text of the article as posted here or on the Post web site, can anyone find any mention of this man's race, creed, color, religion, or sexual preference? I couldn't. Wonder why that is? Has PC attacked the Post now? I know that if the races had been reversed, no media outlet would have missed the opportunity to bash the WHITE gunman. The papers would have villified the WHITE gunman for his HATE CRIME. There would have been no mention of anything in the WHITE man's life that could have been used to mitigate the circumstances. And it would have certainly been pointed out that all but one of the people who were injured were women, thus doubling the hate crime charges. Am I the only one offended by this double standard?

My friend, we know for a FACT he isn't white. Believe me if the skin color of the perp was reversed and he shot up a bar in Harlem ranting about n***ers and other racist tripe, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would already be on the scene. Not to mention the media having a field day, playing up how irremediably, irreduciably racist whites still are. So yup, I'm with you there in being mightly offended by the PC take on what's a hate crime.

I was thinking the same thing. "Wine Bar" in the East Village = DYKE bar. Glad there was somebody there to kick his arse. Too bad the EST guy only grazed his head. Now the taxpayers of NY must pay for a trial and all the guy's medical treatment.

One always "assumes" that the gunman accused of a racist crime is not the same color as those being shot. My point is that this article (without pictures being shown) makes no mention of the race/color/national origin of this gunman. The same certainly would not be true had the races involved been reversed. The other difference is that there are no race riots in NYC this morning. There are no white Louies, Als, or Jessies, whipping up the rhetorical and actual flames of a race war over this HATE CRIME. I bet there are no homes, bars or other businesses being torched or anything over this. I'm sure the NY Slimes story (if covered at all) will read something like: "This poor racially unidentified victim of the abuses of white society simply succumbed to the pressures of his unfortunate situation and committed a forgiveable act out of frustration. Waaaaa, blubber, sniff."
