  • Authorize the Use of Force Against Our Real Enemy - Iran

    townhall.com ^ | September 9, 2013 | Kurt Schlichter
Why are we talking about Syria when the real enemy is Iran? Everyone agrees that a key central consideration behind an attack on Syria is the message it would sent to the mullahs in Iran. The idea is that weakness and fecklessness in the face of Assad’s barbarism du jour will somehow telegraph to the players in Tehran that it’s open season on building nukes. There’s an easy solution to this quandary, and unlike hand-slapping the degenerates in Damascus it serves a clear American interest. Congress should authorize the use of force to topple the Iranian regime if it doesn’t dismantle...
  • Anyone Else Having Problems Displaying Message Threads?

Am I the only one having issues displaying threads on the forum this morning? Threads with less than 50 posts appear to display fine. Threads with more than 50 replies to them I see perhaps the first 12-15 posts in the thread and that's it. I don't see the page footer or anything else, the page just truncates. Also, I've noticed if I click on a specific message link to a thread, I don't get that message link displayed, rather I see replies above or below that link. For example, if Person A replied to Person B, and the link...

Well it is Thanksgiving week. We just finished a disappointing election, Israel is in trouble. The United States is figuring out how to economically survive and I have not had one of these fun vanities in a long time. We used to do them pretty frequently back in the day. I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a great time participating in this vanity like we used to do in the past!!!!!

(MYFOX NATIONAL) - Have you ever wanted to send an email or document with a little sarcasm, but didn't want to risk being misunderstood? The solution to this very real problem was announced through a press release Tuesday: Enter the sarcasm mark or "SarcMark," available under for $2. Sarcasm Inc. of Washington Township, Mich., has released software for computer systems and Blackberry devices that can be downloaded for $1.99. The software provides a mark that looks like an open circle with a dot in the center; or an upside down "g" or "@" symbol. UPI posted a image of the...

On Dec. 24, saw a posting titled: The Missing 13th Amendment. I saved the link and returned to it this morning to read it in depth, but found it had been pulled. Was this found to be unfit for discussion? Was it a bogus article in the first place?? This was the article address- http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2153789/posts

During the last California primary election I posted discussion threads for region relevant candidates and measures, called CA Freepers Voter Guides. http://www.freerepublic.com/~emat/ http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/search?m=all;o=time;s=Freepers%20Voter%20Guide These posts were well received by friends, family, and fellow Freepers, and they even received some modest media attention: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1653731/posts http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1653731/posts?page=26#26 However, I noticed last time the resulting discussions would have worked better in a style similar to the state message boards (e.g.: http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/profiles?location=53 ), because with election information it is important to see the most up-to-date comments first, and Freepers need to be able to delete or amend their statements as they receive new information. However,...

Well Folks! I finally did it, fwiw. 10,000 times I punched the button .. and plop, like magic, there it was. I wanted to make this one a little more personal than most of the others. Some were boring as hell and some I couldn't get a hit on if I paid folks to look at 'em. Others , were equally as dull, but Hey, with all the stuff out there on the 'net these days, who's to say I could or would have much to add to much of anything that folks cared to know about or had always...

Threads that think Dec 8th 2005From The Economist print editionMaterials: The incorporation of sensors and controls into clothing is the first step towards a new realm of “smart fabrics” IT COULD give the term “power suit” a whole new meaning. Getting dressed a few years from now, you may find yourself putting on more than mere fabric. Your clothes may by then sport electronic sensors and tiny computers. As you walk out of the door, you will be not just fashionably attired, but digitally enhanced—a living, breathing node on the internet. This prospect will delight some people and horrify others....

Shroud of Turin: Old as Jesus? By THE NEW YORK TIMES Published: January 27, 2005 he Shroud of Turin is much older than the medieval date that modern science has affixed to it and could be old enough to have been the burial wrapping of Jesus, a new analysis concludes. Since 1988, most scientists have confidently concluded that it was the work of a medieval artist, because carbon dating had placed the production of the fabric between 1260 and 1390. In an article this month in the journal Thermochimica Acta, Dr. Raymond N. Rogers, a chemist retired from Los Alamos...

I save my favorite threads from Free Republic in a folder for later viewing offline or to send in an email to friends. This is how I do it in Internet Explorer and XP. Forgive my grammar and spelling. First I make a new folder on my desktop to save the web page the discussion is on. To make a new folder on your desktop, right click on your desktop. A gray box will appear. Move your arrow to “New”. A second gray box will appear with “Folder” at the top. Move your arrow over to “Folder” and left click....
