Can I jump in on this one? As far as I am concerned, Paulus and Anita are nothing more than your typical 'enlightened' Eurotrash couple who give free rein to their children while setting poor examples themselves. I have no doubt whatsoever that both parents are aware of what Joran has done...they just don't think he should be punished for it. They are able to 'justify' non-punishment because the punishment of their 'child' will not bring another's child back. Remember...the Dutch are 'enlightened'. Americans, as seen by the Dutch...why, we are foolish cowboys (sarcasm on) who just can't wait for some romantic interlude away from home with some Euro 'sporter' like Joran.(/sarcasm off) Sheesh...those people are disgusting.

Hey DS...just very disappointed in the ruling yesterday. Not surprised, but disappointed. I see no legal justice ahead in this case. I don't think they ever intended to truly investigate this matter. The 2 year time frame will mean nothing. Once again One Happy Island can make their false claims of "No evidence, No crime in Aruba". It wouldn't surprise me to see the Dutch/Aruban law changed so that no crimes are officially investigated during the first ten days of the commission of the crime.
The only justice that will be had in this matter will come from a higher power. Ten days don't mean squat to Him.

truthie, I think you're right about the parents, if I may loosely refer to them in that way. Someone upthread said they felt NH was filmed in JVDS' room, and I think so, too. What's more, I think Beth knows it.
And Dark, I think the Posner angle makes sense if you allow that Buckets may not be the dullard you imagine. We know he likes to gamble...why not spice it up by gambling with people? He seems pretty well protected, thus far!
Did anyone catch Dr. Phil? Anything new? Were any details released about Natalee being in the PVDS house? I tend to agree with those that say Paul took a turn with Natalee and perhaps finished her off / got rid of her body. He has been fighting to protect himself as well as his son. Yes, addiction to danger / risk is a strong perverse motivator and people that play with it tend to get worse and worse.

My husband and I honeymooned in Aruba 23 years ago and even stayed at the Holiday Inn International which I believe is the same hotel where Natalee had been staying. It has always been near and dear to our hearts and we were planning a return there one day but NEVER AGAIN!
We are sick about this for that family and even moreso that fellow human beings are so corrupt, unthinking and uncaring. I kept saying to hubby they can't take away our wonderful honeymoon all those years ago but this has really done a number and I'll never think of it in the same way now. How can I?

Well, not to be a whiner, but OJ Simpson also chose our anniversary date to do his murders. I'm not making a comparison to that horrendous event or the grief of the Holloway family but just that we seem to have encountered some strange coincidences there.
