Elderly Couple Hospitalized After Cops Raid Wrong House

HORN LAKE, Miss. — An unidentified elderly Horn Lake couple were hospitalized Thursday after police burst into their home thinking it housed a methamphetamine laboratory.

The incident occurred Wednesday about 4 a.m., said police Capt. Shannon Beshears. Beshears said it was the right address but the wrong house.

Beshears said a heavily armed Tactical Apprehension Containment Team stormed the house.

"We had good information from a reliable source that had been backed up by a purchase of narcotics linked to the address. However, when we arrived at the designated address, there were two houses on the lot. We hit the larger of the two houses.

"It was the wrong house," Beshears said. "The house was totally dark and the TACT members went through to the bedroom looking for the suspects."

A man and a woman — both in their 80s — were injured as TACT team members secured the house although no drugs were found. There were children in the house also, but they were not awakened, Beshears said.

Yes, lack of info, so why is everyone so quick to jump on the police are wrong wagon?

Police do not use wording like "busted in the door." This story came from either a reporter who got it second hand or from a witness/victim. I guess just enough info to blast all police. LIke I said GWB invaded a country on bad intel who here advocates removng him from office for that?

"I like to think I was good, but by some of the standards I see here I was a Gestapo drone."

I don't personally think of you as anything but a good guy. I just don't think that this behavior is wise. And, I'm tired of beating this horse, so let's just agree that we see it differently. Hopefully, we can get the laws changed and stop this stupid crap from happening.

In America, we're supposed to accept that bad guys sometimes get away because we don't want to risk the innocent.

Really, out of the 25 or so labs I was part of the raid on over a 6 years stint all of the cooks were users and were tweaking when we hit the door.

Do some more research about meth.

"Amerika" is used to decry what government has devolved to.

As long as there are young men/women dying for AmeriCan causes, it is disgusting to see someone use their country's name in such a manner. But then, it's all about you, isn't it?

I do not make excuses, I just relay how things are done in real police work, not tv police work and how most of the public doesn't know anything about it by choice ( ostrich syndrome ), but they can damn sure complain about it.

Your entry experience is 0 if you think that the light on the end of weapon illuminates much when you are running room to room and there are other people about you blocking the light and everyone is yelling police. Controlled chaos is what it is.

"Marine ( 3 years in RECON )"

OK Stud, the enemy was NOT American citizens then. Straighten up and fly right 'cause you're home now.

They turn the lights out and close the blinds ( foil the windows ) after a few years of allowing us to see into a well lit house. They understand backlighting concepts. Sometimes you can sit outside and watch them continuously peeking out every window in the house whenever a dog barks or car goes by.

They aren't totally stupid and learn well from the Discovery channel on how to work against police tactics.

"Controlled chaos is what it is".

Sounds like totally out of control chaos to me.

Maybe it is time to change tactics.

Maybe the citizens need to get together and use the police's tactics against them. Bust into their homes in the middle of the night with a well armed gang. Oh, they could even carry a piece of paper with them that says it is "legal".

Shoot at the first sign of resistance and if there is no resistance beat up the occupants of the home.

Fight fire with fire.

An entire team arrived at this allegedly tweaker residence without being noticed. Someone's lying again.

but they can damn sure complain about it

As they have a right to under the First Amendment. Even if it is to the point of making some quit.

Ahh, the moronic answer.

If you do not like it run for your state legislature and change the laws and policy of your police. Until then complain away to guys like me who don't give a crap one way or the other because I am a facist by some accounts.

Amazing how you people cannot stay on target. I was opposing the call to condemn all officers as opposed to the one who made the error. No one has proved that the elderly were beaten, so the entry team is vindicated until then. I will repeat myself for those in the back and without standing, if they were beaten charge all who applied said beating.

Are any of you going to answer my question about GWB and his action on faulty intel? Or is that too hard of a parallel to draw?

His intel was supposed to be a bit more elite body than someone claiming to have bought some drugs at the premises.

Yes they can and I served to protect that right and use it myself on occasion. I love the 1st two amendments especially the second.

That was only a small part of my quitting, actually I became a capitalist and shunned my naive "helping my fellow man trance" to make 3 times more money and am home every night.

HAW, you were talking as if that is what "made you" quit.
