Maybe the better question would be, what is this evidence that falsifies evolution or what is the fake evidence that supports evolution?

There have been numerous instances of fake evidence for evolution support. The fact that they are no longer accepted as evidence does not negate the fact that they existed.

And I was specific in my non-falsifiable contention. I mentioned Darwinism. Read on Dr James Shapiro.

You are being less than honest.

That is not "backing up". That is a contention. There is no life on Saturn(another contention). Am I being less than honest?

But this is an important point...if evidence was fake, who revealed that it was fake? I mean, if they are no longer accepted as evidence, that means that someone proved that they were fake...but just because some pieces of evidence were fake, does that mean that the whole support for evolution is swept away? I doubt very much, that support for evolution hinges on just a few pieces of evidence...

"That is not "backing up". That is a contention."

You are either being less than honest by not providing evidence to back up your contentions, or you are just not smart enough to. I have given you the reason of the doubt and concluded you are smart enough. Perhaps I am mistaken.

Unfalsifiable claims can never have evidence that contradicts them.

Don't you see the irony in your statement? What is a few?

Contentions don't require evidence. There is no life on Jupiter.

"Contentions don't require evidence."

Maybe in your fantasy world. In the real world, however, they do if they are to be taken seriously. Not everybody lives in the world inside your head. :)

"There is no life on Jupiter."

There happens to be evidence that supports this contention. You have not provided any to support YOUR contention that there is a conspiracy to silence evidence that goes against evolution (the existence of such evidence which, if true, would make evolution falsifiable).

On the topic of academic fraud, the man pictured in this thread is named Hwang Woo-Suk, and was a notable researcher at Seoul National University before admitting to fabricating research and falsifying records in his stem cell research. The link is to Wikipedia, which has a relatively good article on him. He name also turns up a good many search engine hits. From reading this article, and other, it would seem there were indications of problems with his methods going back as far as 1999-2000.

Professional ethics are a huge part of science and engineering. It's somewhat sad to hear people say they believe fraud is the norm, rather than the exception, and downright disturbing to hear people make claims that evidence is "suppressed" by some sort of conspiracy. It is pertinent to say people go to great lengths to prevent this sort of dishonesty, and that it is the scientific community itself who discovers these frauds.

It's far, far easier to claim that a conspiracy exists than to actually provide evidence for said conspiracy. Conspiracy theories are a dime a dozen.

I dont think that there are hundred or thousands of pieces of fake evidence, evidence which supports evolution....

I know that there have been a couple of pieces of evidence, used to show support for evolution that turned out to be fakes...maybe you can tell me, just exactly how many pieces of fake evidence there are....perhaps someone else on this thread, better acquainted with this can give us a number...

No, I dont see the irony...if a few pieces(and we still as yet have to see the actual number)of evidence were faked to support evolution, how can one then say that all of evolution must be dismissed, when in fact there are thousands of pieces of real evidence that appear to support evolution...

Or do you feel that most of the evidence used to support evolution, is indeed, faked?

I didn't say you can't make a contention that had no backing evidence. I said that there is no reason to take seriously your contention if you refuse to back it up. Which is why I said specifically,

"Maybe in your fantasy world. In the real world, however, they do if they are to be taken seriously."

You refuse to back up your contention that there is a conspiracy to suppress anti-evolution evidence. There is therefore no reason at all to take your contention any more seriously than the contention that thetans infest human bodies and need to be expelled through Scientology. You are of course free to live in your own fantasy world. Don't expect anybody else to want to live there too. :)

Your contention that a claim can be both unfalsifiable and have evidence that contradicts it is not only unsupported, it's false. The contention has an internal, logical inconsistency.
