Last time she was on with her, about a week ago,she said that she still has not made up her mind.
That's good enough for me.
...............I know I am on the tail end of this thread but I just want to add my two cents which is that if Sarah intends to run she is doing exactly the right thing and if I were her I would keep doing it right up until the last minute, just like Reagan. Here’s a few reasons:
1. Bachman is about done and Palin has not had to say one bad thing about her, Pawlenty already bailed and several other canidates are on their way out the door. Their expiration is just a matter of time. So, she is letting the process whittle down this group and staying out, or resting up if you will for the real fight coming down the road while not making enemies of the existing candidates and becoming involved in petty disputes with any of them which of course the media would fan the flames on.
2. By staying out she has saved a ton of money. All the other candidates but Romney and Perry are busted.
3. By staying out she will enter the fray fairly refreshed and with a much shorter distance to the finish line.
4. Equally important to keeping the Dims and the press guessing is keeping the Republican establishment guessing. She has accomplished that.
5. I do not believe she is stupid enough or callous enough or so self centered that she would purposefully lead millions of people on with her potential candidacy and then just bail. To be sure, if she bails, millions of people are going to, simply put, not like Sarah Palin anymore. That IS NOT in Sarah’s best interest, to say the least.
Arguably, the best thing that could happen to her is to run, put in a real good showing, but lose in a tight primary fight. Then, she remains relevant like Reagan to try again, doesn’t make millions of loyal supporters mad, and her opportunities to make even more millions in the interim are bolstered, not destroyed. Unlike Reagan she will only be 51 years old in 4 years and 55 in eight.
At any rate, I think she has had it up to here with that type of BS and with the crap her family takes from the media. I believe she will not run and I have said this since she resigned her Governorship. She can do a lot for this country by simply doing what she is doing. Maybe Perry(or who ever wins, anyone but Obama)will put her in Holder's spot. Wouldn't that be great?
This isn’t the end of the month. I think I read that she told one reporter that she’ll announce by the end of this month. I was not expecting it today, myself. I’m really sort of aggravated that the whole campaign thing started so early. We needed a rest, a break from the continual campaigning! Other than by Cain, whom people did not know and needed to begin to make a name for himself, most others are somewhat familiar. Sheesh! Maybe Sarah wants a break, too! Announce towards the end and save some of the hassle. Can you imagine how hectic it will be once she does? Her followers will stay on board.
Every day is Constitution Day with Sarah.
Don’t sweat it. She’ll do what she’ll do.
Have you?
Excuse me, but your very criticism of Palin seems to indicate just the opposite view that you're trying to portray here. Even as a private citizen (at least at this point), Palin can still make heads explode.
Keep posting your criticism of Palin’s failure to make an announcement. This says more about you and your irrational fear of Palin, than it does about her.
Sarah will announce when she's good and ready. If some of you folks don't like...TOUGH! :-)
Never thought I’d say this, but so far Newt is the only candidate to impress me. And I don’t even like the guy. Except for him, I don’t see a take charge Leader in the whole bunch. I would welcome Palin to jump in and mix it up a bit. God knows the GOP field need a little excitement.
September, October, or even November , I don’t care.
Go Mama Grizzly!
ESTRAGON: Let's back a candidate. VLADIMIR: We can't. ESTRAGON: Why not? VLADIMIR: We're waiting for Sarah. ESTRAGON: (despairingly). Ah! (Pause.) You're sure it was here? VLADIMIR: What? ESTRAGON: That we were to wait. VLADIMIR: She said by the tree. (They look at the tree.) Do you see any others? ESTROGEN: What is it? VLADIMIR: I don't know. A willow. ESTRAGON: Where are the leaves? VLADIMIR: It must be dead. ESTRAGON: No more weeping. VLADIMIR: Or perhaps it's not the season. ESTRAGON: Looks to me more like a bush. VLADIMIR: A shrub. ESTRAGON: A bush. VLADIMIR: A. What are you insinuating? That we've come to the wrong place? ESTRAGON: She should be here. VLADIMIR: She didn't say for sure she'd declare. ESTRAGON: And if she doesn't declare? VLADIMIR: We'll come back tomorrow. ESTRAGON: And then the day after tomorrow. VLADIMIR: Possibly. ESTRAGON: And so on. VLADIMIR: The point is ESTRAGON: Until she declares. VLADIMIR: You're merciless. ESTRAGON: We came here yesterday. VLADIMIR: Ah no, there you're mistaken. ESTRAGON: What did we do yesterday? VLADIMIR: What did we do yesterday? ESTRAGON: Yes. VLADIMIR: Why . . . (Angrily.) Nothing is certain when you're about. ESTRAGON: In my opinion we were here. VLADIMIR: (looking round). You recognize the place? ESTRAGON: I didn't say that. VLADIMIR: Well? ESTRAGON: That makes no difference. VLADIMIR: All the same . . . that tree . . . (turning towards auditorium) that bog . . . ESTRAGON: You're sure it was this evening? VLADIMIR: What? ESTRAGON: That we were to wait. VLADIMIR: Drudge said Saturday. (Pause.) I think. ESTRAGON: You think.
I love how she just won’t even announce to her supporters that she doesn’t intend to run. Just drags it on and on.
It’s like the “Great Disappointment” of October 22, 1844 and all the Millerites were shocked that the End of the World prediction did NOT happen. Same mistake was made years later by the Russellites. They were so embarrassed that they changed their name to Jehova’s Witnesses and began the early morning torturing of people by banging on their doors.
Palin knew she was not on the Perry VP short list that is why she spoke out.If she does run like it or not she has no more chance than Bachmann if not less.I still say Palin would serve this country well as energy secretary.
She doesn’t need to run in 2012. I said a long time ago I didn’t think she would. She wields significant power from her current position.
