Is there a Ron Paul putsch under way?
World Net Daily ^ | 06/05/12 | Pam Gellar

Is a Paulian putsch being planned for the Republican National Convention?

Newt Gingrich has warned that Republican leaders have not thought through “how they’re going to handle the convention in Tampa, and how they’re going to handle the Ron Paul forces.” The New York Sun reported that “what Mr. Gingrich seems to be worried about is the delegates that Congressman Paul is winning through his strategy of dealing with state conventions. The former speaker had just come from the convention at Georgia, where … the ‘Ron Paul people’ were out in force.”

I have been receiving alarming emails concerning an underhanded, anti-American Ron Paul coup that is being plotted for the GOP convention.

From Virginia: “I’m running for delegate to the RNC convention in Tampa. There is a serious Paulbot infestation in the GOP here in Virginia. I’m spending a lot of time at GOP apparatchik meetings. I’ve gotten the endorsement of the Conservative Coalition (I was the top vote-getter), and usually that is enough but not this cycle.”

And this came in from a reader of my website AtlasShrugs.com out West: “There is a very interesting situation going on behind the scenes in the Republican Party state caucuses, and the MSM is not reporting it. Ron Paul’s followers have taken control of the Republican state committees in Nevada, Alaska, Iowa, Maine and Louisiana and working for more control in upcoming meetings. They have stolen delegates to the upcoming Republican National Convention away from Mitt Romney by following some technical rules.”

I’m well aware of Romney’s liberal record, but you seem to pick and choose what to believe about Paul.

I’m not a Romney supporter. I backed Cain first and then switched to Newt. Romney would be a “hold my nose” vote if it happens.

But I could NEVER bring myself to vote for Paul. With his ties to Soros, support of OWS, blame America first and many of his other crazy batsh!t ideas, I just can’t go that far. To me, voting for Paul would be just as bad as voting for Obama.

“Read my posts to the these radical Paul nutters on Monday.
You will see their bold faced radicalism in action.
They were so bold as to cry and whine that the LA GOP put a stop to their coup attempt.
Paul was crushed in the LA primary vote and came in dead last but these radicals want to control the delegation and screw the LA voters wishes.

These PAULBOTS are radical leftists getting marching orders from Axelrod and our Alinsky Pres.

These same radical swarmed over Hillary supporters using the same tactics in 2008.

GOP heads better stop these Obama drones posing as Paul supporters.”

Lies! I know these Paul supporters, and they hate Obama as much as they hate Mitt Romney. Whatever the case, anything that damages Mitt Romney and gets him off the ticket is fine by me. You feel an incredible need to comment on things you simply don’t understand or want to understand.

Romney is the weakest option who will be crushed in a general election .
The Dems need Obamacare to be a non issue in 2012 and Mittens guarantees that .
Mittens is pro abortion ,pro global warming ,pro cap and trade , and pro
Govt .
The base will stay home thanks to his fire bombing of the other primary options .
He ran the most destructive hate filled primary campaign in my lifetime .
This guy hates the GOP voters .
He is John McCain part ii without the military story

This is scary...

Why? Paul is no less worthless than Romney, maybe even less worthless than Romney.

Getting marching orders from Axelrod and Alinsky President? It’s BS. I won’t deny that there is definitely a strong element of pro-Russian, anti-American views on foreign policy (inspired by the Alex Jones types. JR Nyquist notes it is a general trend that the left and the “right” across the world are generally converging upon certain themes that are not good for us), however, to pretend that they are all agents of Obama is simply stupid.

I also went from Cain to Newt.

And I also won’t be voting for that pathological liar Mitt Romney.

If the eeeevil PaulBots can succeed in mucking up the convention, I’m all for it. It’s not theft when you follow the rules.

Paul’s foreign policy stances are better suited for 1812, not 2012. James Madison was a staunch supporter of a small to non existant Army and Navy (see the Federalist papers), yet realized that America can’t be protected by a bunch of militia after the war of 1812 and he saw the people’s house burned down.

We have to have a robust military, strategically forward placed in areas to protect our national interests. Paul doesn’t care if Iran gets a nuke, are you serious???? Paul wants to pull all the troops out of Afghanistan, are you serious??? These are stances that will allow our enemies to gain a start working on the next 9/11 and this time it will be a nuclear one.

Add to that his views on going back to the gold standard and some of his positions are just not credible. Yes, I agree with him that the Fed needs to be reformed but get rid of it and go back to the gold standard??? Seriously??? Do you really believe there’s enough gold available to support a 15 trillion dollar economy? Seriously???

I’m not happy with Mittens as our candidate, but he’s far better than Ron Paul and Barrack Obama.

LOL. I hear you. To be honest I’ve been sitting on the fence about voting for Romney. Can I hold back vomiting to pull the lever for him, or can I endure another 4 years of the rapid socialist takeover of America. Worse yet, can America survive?

I don’t know. I believe that all 3 candidates are in the pocket of Soros. Obama, Romney and Paul.

I am not a Glen Beck fan. Never really listened to him or watched his show on FOX, but this clip does lay out some very questionable links between Soros and Paul. I also think that it is interesting that up until Newt finally dropped out Paul wasn’t saying a thing about Romney. I always believed that Paul was helping Romney in some way.

Paul is just to screwed up for me to trust.

The GOP candidate is Romney and we are stuck with him .
Obama and his operatives are beyond dangerous .
Eric Holder voter fraud program will destroy all out future elections
so Obama and his crew must go .
Romney is the only option .
That’s it .

It seems to me that if the Paul-bots take delegates via sneaky, underhanded though technically-legal means, it just won’t be accepted by the voters. I think he be seen just as illegitimate, if not more so, than Obama.

Folks like me who just want Obama gone likely wouldn’t care as much, but all those moderates, centrists, right-leaning dems — all the folks who “vote like they’re told” by the MSM would be saturated with negative ads painting Paul as a back-room cheater. If the Paul-bots have to sneak delegates in this fashion, it stands to reason they can’t win in a fair fight. The tactic is useless without the ability to convince voters on Nov-06th.

I don’t see how Paul could effectively lead given those circumstances.

If what you want is a FAIR fight, you will INEVITABLY LOSE, period. Each and every single time. History is replete with examples, but all we need do is look at the Pacific campaigns of WWII. We would put as many as 20,000 Marines ashore to crush 4-5,000 Japanese. Neither side fought a “fair” fight. Both fought to WIN! Doing whatever it took.

If Dr. Paul and his people are following the law while fighting to win, then more power to them. We need a WINNER, not some pretty boy with good hair who fights “fair.”

When the Japanese knew their situation was hopeless, they simply fought to inflict casualties on their enemy.

If Dr. Paul and his people are following the law while fighting to win, then more power to them. We need a WINNER, not some pretty boy with good hair who fights “fair.”

That's not the point I was making. How does RuPaul get voters to pull the lever for him if he is perceived (and dog piled by the MSM, the Dems, The GOP and everyone else) as a dirty, back-room, cheater who stole the nomination via a technicality?

Personally, I'm voting for whoever is running against Obama and has the lead among likely voters. If that's RuPaul, then I'm voting for him. But there are a lot of moderates, centrists, indies, right-leaning dems, conservatives, RINOs, and every other demographic that may not feel the same way. I'd predict if RuPaul *stole* the nomination (technically legal or not) many voters would just skip voting for pres, or write someone in or otherwise hand the election to Obama.

Bad move by RuPaul in my opinion. He's better than Romney or Obama, but I doubt he can pull it off if he does it sneaky & dirty. Opinions may vary...

Let me get this straight, they “stole” delegates by “following the rules?”

Yep; see "following the rules" is sort of strange and mystical, because it follows a deterministic approach. It completely subverts our Bureaucrarchy where the 'rules' are applied at the discretion of our overlords, representing our political leaders's will directly into our very lives.

Tea Party people are strong on defense, Paul is a surrender monkey.

My response: So?
Isn't that the whole point of having Congress involved with cabinet-member selection> To smooth out his deficiency-/unstable-areas?
