Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

He is also one of FR’s, Palin hating trolls.
***It was either him or Palin.

Palin isn’t likely to answer any pings on FR to provide context.

Certainly know the frog metaphor and the truth it speaks to. PC works in much the same way per anesthesizing mind and judgment. Still; you have lost me. . .

'Time to Jump'? Yes; jump the shark; perhaps.

FWIW: Bush did not hand the election to Obama; McCain did. More; our 'third rail' of politics; now more Dem, 'shadow Party'; made it all possible for Obama, by their failure as Media to inquire/investigate and to 'challenge' this candidate. They carried Obama's water; ignored all else and so earned their 'useful idiot' badges and hats. They are still wearing them.

As for 'backing up' and looking for 'real' blame; try Fannie and Freddie and the Demrats forcing mortgages/banks into loans they neither 'legitimately'- nor morally - should have made. That was the 'crux'. . But why even go here?

No question, Bush had his faults (and unlike Obama; paid dearly); but had McCain stepped up to the plate; and had found some serious Conservatism; we might have had a different ending to that election; but not likely. 'Change' so resonated; despite the lies. But enough of 'then' and 'Bush's fault'; it is lame and tiresome. Time is NOW and 'NO way] do I fear Mitt the Terrible - versus Obama. . .

Good news; in the meantime! While you were snoozing perhaps; O's hot water'; unlike Obama; Romney and Ryan; it is reported; are NOT interested in accommodating Shariah Law in America!

Fair question. Short answer: I honestly do not know. ;)

I should probably PING Liz to this, as she's absolutely brilliant at precisely this sort of thing.

We need a ruling, here: WORRISOME or NOT WORRISOME...? ;)

It is an enormous burden you must be feeling. Please take heart in John 15:18-19
"If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you."
There are far worse things in life than being hated by the world. I think you are in Good Company -- Good Company a fair number of us wish to keep. I wish you peace.

FWIW: Bush did not hand the election to Obama;
***I disagree. I posted in 2006 that he should have asked Cheney to step down and install a VP (my hope was Duncan Hunter, or whomever he chose) who would be seen as the obvious golden boy. If he would have done that, he could have had far more impact on the next election with a strong candidate. Instead, he handed it over to the GOP-E and the press, so we ended up with Mccainiack, one of the weakest candidates possible.

OK the fence

Voted YES on building a fence along the Mexican border. (Sep 2006)

Dont know what all this involved...

Comprehensive immigration reform without amnesty. (May 2005)

Willard was for the AMNESTY Bill..

In MASS he had sanctuary cities and protected the illegal aliens from the police..

and he knowingly hired illegal aliens to do the grounds of the Gov mansion...

He said about the illegal aliens

“We cant send them all back”

and “We must find a path to citizenship”

Major, minor... what’s the difference?

A married couple was celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. At the party everybody wanted to know how they managed to stay married so long in this day and age. The husband responded “When we were first married we came to an agreement. I would make all the major decisions and my wife would make all the minor decisions. And in 60 years of marriage we have never needed to make a major decision.”

Huh. I thought I (vaguely) remembered something along those lines... and, by golly, you're absolutely right:

Illegal immigrants did lawn care for Mitt Romney

Yeesh! That's gonna pop up again, during the upcoming debates!

I want you to know that my own opposition to Romney is based upon what I regard as conservative principles and upon my Roman Catholic faith. Romney's Mormonism has nothing to do with my opposition to him. I have known and politically worked with numerous members of the LDS Church. I have always found the Mormons with whom I have been acquainted to be folks of admirable character, serious faith and sound values.

I have never met Mitt Romney or the late George Romney, or the late Lenore Romney, or the late Morris Udall, the late Stewart Udall or today's two senators Udall. I have found little reason to be enthusiastic in support of any of them. That lack of respect has nothing to do with their being or having been Mormons. I have met Orrin Hatch and my opinion of him is generally good but fluctuates with his political performance although I have no doubt that he is a fine and decent man who is sincerely committed to the LDS faith.

As I understand it, the LDS Church is pro-life and pro-marriage and has proven over a long history in our country to be a genuine asset to our nation. As a Catholic, I disagree with some beliefs of other religions and Mormonism is no exception but that does not prevent me from having high regard and respect for individual members of those churches and for each and every good s=aspect of each such church.

I have always regarded it as a weakness of FR that all too often people express not simply their witness to their own respective faiths but also harsh criticism of the faiths of others. FR ought to be a place for conservatives of whatever faith to gather, to discuss matters conservative with due regard for others and to build working relationships to achieve the stated goals of FR.

Jeff, you and I adhere to differing faiths. My experience with your posts here is that, while I may disagree with you from time to time, I have always found you worthy of respect and to be a genuine conservative. If I lived in your vicinity, I would seek you out as a probable ally.

May God bless you and yours!

Don't worry. They're actually just formerly-out-of-work Imperial Stormtroopers from the original Star Wars film trilogy, gussied up in new K-Mart plastic body armor.

You've seen the movies. It certainly isn't as if they can actually hit anything from further away than two, three inches... tops. I have a dachshund puppy that poses more of a genuine threat. ;)

That's a respectable jump (And a good day to you, Tom). I believe Tom Hoefling is a true and reliable conservative and a good recipient for any conservative vote. I keep looking too to see if his name will appear on the Wisconsin state ballot.

You know what, Elsie? I like Jeff. I think I like Mormons more now too. You embarrass me as a Christian.

You know what, Ten, Elz, & Jeff? I like Jeff...and love him in the true Jesus Christ. I know I like and love Mormons (hey, I'm a descendent of one; and have plenty of Lds relatives...I better like and love them!)

Yet Christians who won't marry love and truth ("love rejoices in the truth" -- 1 Cor. 13:6)...and wind up enabling people to remain in their deception...are a HUGE embarrassment to the missionary-minded Christian faith.

I mean if Mormons are not to be "touched" with a Christian witness, or gathered into the worldwide Christian church, then what religious group is? (Just call all the missionaries to Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Confucionists, & all the cults home then, eh Tenacious???...)

And this shows where sometimes Mormons are "more true" to their "scriptures" than those claiming to be in Christ.

Lds send out 55,000 missionaries per year and have zero reservations seeking to pull Christians away from Christian churches. Contrast that with some of those in Christ who seem to clamor that Lds are "off-limits" for truth-telling.

Christians have seemingly forgotten that "Christianity is a missionary religion, converting, advancing, aggressive, encompassing the world; a non-missionary church is in the band of death." (Friedrich Max Muller)

Why have they forgotten?

Well, it seems William Hazlitt put his finger on one reason: "The truly proud man is satisfied with his own good opinion, and does not seek to make converts to it." (William Hazlitt)

And, in fact, those who do "seek to make converts to it" are ridiculed by the likes of posters like Tenacious.
