Here's how systemic this illegal alien thing is:
Jose Rodriguez, an illegal alien resident here for 3 years, presents an SS card to you. The number is valid, the name is valid, Hell, that might even be Joe Rodriguez ... It might even be the right Joe Rodriguez!

He got a driver's license in California, let's say, and that was accepted there as adequate ID to register for SS. He might have bought a phony birth certificate, or passport. Now the Mexican Consulates and others are giving something called a Matricula Consular, which is being accepted everywhere as valid ID by the stupid.

But listen, Mexicans aren't stupid. They are just illegal and taking gross advantage of our systems which are full of holes through which Jose, Achmed, Wang, Little Johhny Malvo and his Mom are walking through with impunity.

However, in real life, Joe Rodriguez isn't going to present an SS or green card to you, he's already floated the phony docs through the temp agency who ships Joe to you in a van, pays him, and just bills you.

Now let me tell you a bad story with a good part: my daughter married a foreigner. That's the good part. Splendid guy. But when he was having trouble coping with the bureaucracy (which ain't all THAT difficult) to come here legally, he was thinking of getting a Mexican visa in his country, flying to Mexico and driving in here and letting the paper work catch up later!

I HATE THAT A FOREIGNER THINKS OUR BORDER CONTROLS ARE SO MICKEY MOUSE THAT ANYONE CAN even think about COMING HERE LIKE THAT! I assure you I would have turned his foreign hide in.

The first one that comes to my mind is one by the name of Thomas Jefferson.

That quote comes is a document I learned about in 4th grade - in public school no less.

I don't know how I ended up on your list but thanks! Maybe you can tell me how to make the INS respond. So far, I've been told that although they are aware of the wineries in my area ALL with majority illegal employees, they cannot go on private property WITHOUT notifying them in advance! Also, the principals in our local schools are required to report undocumented alien students, but don't! The INS cannot require them to show them records! How to move forward here??? Any advice would be appreciated. We are losing our hospital and our schools are in the toilet.

I think it is too late to do anything about the problem.

I would have to disagree.
Politicians will not do anything to solve this problem until YOU and I force them to.
How? one way is to grill them on this whenever they appear in public. And don't let them give some bland sound bite of an answer. And let them know that they do not have your vote until you get a good answer. Not only that but you will work for their opponent.
The problem will be solved when 1) businesses stop knowing hiring them, 2) Mexico realizes that those people coming across the border are (for the most part) the very ones they should be doing all in their power to keep at home.
