ghaffar khan's movement consisted of a very few people, while pakhtoon fanaticism was rampant even back then.

You'd find that back in 1948, during the heydey's of ghaffar khan, kashmir was invaded by savage pakhtoon hordes. these savages are at the source of not only all recent terror in the region but also responsible for the kashmir problem.

besides if you take some time and read ancient indian history, you'd see that pakhtoons and looted and plundered india for as long as history can remember. I think the first barbarian's name was ghazni or suri or something. I read about it in some publication from the british-india library or something

I thought a pahktoon was a brass big rimmed bowl on the floor in a saloon, usually containing expected tobacco juice.

IN southern Pakistan, there's an old saying that all sorrow comes from Kandahar, traditionally a place where brigands would come raid the fertile lands of the Southern Indus valley.

Mahmud of Ghazni is the bloke you were referring to.

Though, I would say that a good part of the Punjabis of Pakistan are now adherents of the Jihad.
