Well we want to address a problem, we aren't exactly looking for kicks or death and destruction.

We want to address the problem to avoid death and destruction in the first place.

Any solution should be do it as peacefully as possible.

take their WMD facilities out to minimize loss of life.

Then encourage the ethnicities to opt for cession, much like czechoslovakia

We need to take their offensive capabilties out, including their global aspirations with their break, rob them of the resources and then contain them with sanctions.

For kicks, you are better off with your PS2 or whatever.

Ok, if someone is going to come at you with the hellbent idea to kill you, and you know it. would you:

A) act like the person will ignore you if you ignore him

B) Hold your hands up and try to reason with a mad man

c) Go on the offensive, take out there resources and nuetralize them, or kill them so you can sleep at night knowing your wife/kids/family are safe from harm...

You can not reason with the insane.

Unfortunately, someone is going to die, either it's you or them...I am sure you would like to do things in the future, wouldn't you?
