Everytime I read something like this I get even prouder that I shook the hand of John O'Neill as I helped move the VVAJK banner to the other side of the speakers area at the 9/12 KERRY LIED RALLY in DC.

My wife even loves him. I sure hope he runs for office the next time around. When I was posting on Lefty sites I was chagrined to see that a lot of Lefties are scheming to hurt his law practice, Can you imagine that?

...Campaign buzz

Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry can't escape the "Swift Boat" wake, although CBS News anchor Dan Rather's "bias" tops all political buzzwords in the Global Language Monitor's September PQ (Political-sensitivity Quotient) Index.

Neither of the above sagas is helping Mr. Kerry's campaign — "in many cases overshadowing the key messages of the Democratic nominee," according to the index, a proprietary algorithm that tracks politically sensitive words and phrases in the media.

"With five weeks remaining in the campaign, there is a very real danger that Kerry's key messages continue to be swamped by the 'Swift Boats' and 'Rathergate' issues," says Paul Payack, president of the California-based language monitor.

"Swift Boats" actually is getting more media hits and citations than all other key Kerry messages combined, according to the index, including

I hope the Swifties return to that one Advert where the POWS are speaking, with Kerry drolling on in the background with his "burned whole villages" commie blather. That one was really effective I thought.

I think the last one you see will be the Kerry exhibit in the museum in Saigon where the commies honor Kerry for his antiwar activites, treason and useful idiocy in helping the commies.

Hi Ya Ben!!!

I lurked off and on for along time. My wife has been a regular everyday though she is a devout lurker. With things heating up I felt like it was a good time to come back to the fold. It gives me the warm-fuzzies that someone remembers me. Thank you.

The Swift Boat ads are a good example of the importance of third party negative advertising for healthy politics and elections. Were it not for the dogged courage of the Swift Boat veterans and their paid ads, their account would have been buried and unknown to most of the public.

The Kerry campaign would obviously not have put the Swift Boat material out before the public; neither would the Bush campaign because Kerry's rejoinder would have been to cry foul over negative campaigning while pointing to real and contrived questions about Bush's non-combat National Guard Service; and the news media, even Fox, would have given the Swift Boat Vets little attention because the campaigns themselves had not brought their story up.

The effectiveness of the Swift Boat ads illustrates how elections can be a collaboration between the campaigns and the news media against the public, with information legitimately of interest often buried for tactical reasons. Not so on this occasion -- with all credit due to the Swift Boat vets.
