i went back to see what had happened. I went to the official thread and they had posted something between commonguymd and Dark Halo. I don't know what it showed except dark halo talking about how to find out where the mods are.

They will show no post by Scott or myself. Wow, I really am non-relevant. It's almost as if I was never there. Hrumph

Some consider it Philip K. Dick's best novel.

It's about an undercover cop who suffers a psychotic break and can no longer distinguish between his cop identity and the undercover hippie persona.

I briefly wondered what would happen if you went so far undercover in DUmmie land you actually became one of them! Or a part of you became one of them. And the novel popped into my mind.

This isn't the first time this novel has popped into my mind during AndyScam. There's something about some ailment of the pancreas Dick believed he suffered as a result of the drugs he, the actual author, took (I believe he was a speed freak).

Anyway, it isn't my favorite novel and so I cannot recommend it and you seem fairly well grounded so I cannot even recommend it as a warning, it just keeps coming to my mind during this whole AndyScam.

Another novel that has come to mind, but with much less frequency is Now Wait for Last Year. There is the character of the President of Earth who keeps dying whenever a diplomatic crisis arises and is replaced by a twin from an alternate universes where he wasn't elected.

I don't venture over to CU very often (a good thing, I guess). What the heck are they constantly "cleaning up" over there? Doesn't seem like they clean up the language...

No other way to explain how when on "goes away" the other shows up within minutes.

Tag team?

Well, the deal is, I never go into DUmmieland on this computer here at home; a wholly different computer at the office 12 miles away. I have to drive there; I have to make a physical and time-consuming effort to actually go into DUmmieland.

There have been some weeks I have gone into DUmmieland for 12-20 hours, other weeks, 0-2 hours. I prefer to go into DUmmieland when the sun is shining and all is light outdoors--the one-man office has big windows--so as to remind me where I really actually truly am.

I think those things help me remain sane when there.

The only times I have ever wanted to be anyone but myself were those occasional times when I wished I had been born Henry R. Luce.....simply so that I could have the pleasure of having as my wife the delightful Clare Booth Luce.

Oh, great. "Cupcakes" has me salivating over thoughts of chocolate cupcakes, and now you have introduced candy. I really do need some self-control here! :D

I am curious here too. I've been following the Andyscam for over a week now (reads like a soap opera) and I just got caught up from what happened last night. (Alot has taken place)

My question is: Are we suppose to be under the impression that the 2 checks for $18,000 that were posted earlier on this thread - a carbon copy or an exact copy of one another?

I'm beginning to think if you post without the language that's what gets deleted.

LOL - Thanks, I think I'll do that. Those actually sound pretty good. Am checking into going on Jenny Craig, at the moment. I saw my stepsister at my niece's wedding this past weekend, and she had lost 22 lbs. on Jenny Craig since I had last seen her. She looked great! On that note...making a placeholder here. Good night...

Goodnight everybody. The dog is insisting that I go to bed right now so he can smash up against me and take all the room in the bed. If I don't do what he's demanding he'll drive me crazy in other ways.

See you all in the am.

I don't know. They have succeeded in totally confusing me. I am relying on the sharp skills of others tonight.

Well unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, I believe they are two different checks. Meaning they are typed differently. They are not an exact copy, nor is it a carbon copy.

Why two totally different checks? If you would like me to point out the differences I will gladly do it, unless someone else has done it.

Look at all my posts..........Long before you came into this issue.

Uh, maybe you ought to practice what you preach and "look at my posts" before you make a statement like that. If I haven't commented on your particular conversation does by no mean I am not paying attention.

Can you not agree it's NOT IMPOSSIBLE?

Give me a break. If you knew anything about my history (and it is well documented here at FR) you would know I have first hand experience in surgery and the paperwork involved. Having said that, you are right, it is not impossible, but it is highly unlikely. It is also not inpossible for me to win the lottery next Wednesday but it is highly unlikely.

I remember they were talking about whether they were copies of originals. I know there was a question about it. I just can't seem to recall what the answer was. I don't think anything matches up with anything though. I know they created more questions than answers.

Exactly. Just so everyone knows, they are two totally different typed checks but with the same check number.

Thanks for answering.
