One Nation Under God
Conservative Thoughts ^ | September 15, 2005 | John Kuethe

I sit here today enduring a true conflict of emotions. On the one hand, I am very pleased at the poise and composure of Judge Roberts as he proves to be the intellectual superior of the Democrat lynch mob which is attempting to discredit him. On the other hand I sit in stunned disbelief at the news that a federal judge has just ruled the “Pledge of Allegiance”, unconstitutional, again!

Now, you will recall that an atheist from California had his previous attempt to get the pledge out of public schools was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court because he had no legal standing. He has now returned with two families and the Pledge of Allegiance has been ruled unconstitutional Wednesday by a federal judge who granted legal standing to two families represented by him. All of this because in 1954, Congress after a campaign by the Knights of Columbus, added the words, 'under God,' to the Pledge. Now, here is the key to the issue. Congress voted the phrase into the Pledge. Judges did not put it in, both Houses of Congress did. . .

This leftist, secular judge creates a backlash in favor of Bush and his nominees for the Supreme Court.
We almost all believe that the Pledge (not oath) of allegiance is part of our American fabric. Taking it away because of two a*****e families negates the entire idea of a majority rule and makes this a nation of minority rule.
I hope this comes back on the lefties and bites'em in the butt.

How is it in America one person can disrupt the entire country by protesting a
fundamental pledge of patriotism to our symbol of unity ?

One confused critter with too much time on his hands and an agenda
no doubt but unknown financed and supported by our countries enemies .
Why is so much credibility given to this case, where is this guy getting
all of the money it takes to file with the courts ?

He works as an emergency room doctor but has vast funds for this
endeavor, how is this funded .Look under a rock and you will find some
socialistic snake behind it .

"How is it in America one person can disrupt the entire country by protesting a fundamental pledge of patriotism to our symbol of unity ?"

How is that the actions of one person can be used to define the actions of an entire political group?

This guy is an idiot, leave Under God in the pledge and move on already. Don't our courts have better things to do?

You are correct that this will play into Bush's hands perfectly. I think that this should be the time to nominate the second conservative for the Supreme Court in response to this case. The conservative base deserves the fruits of its labors at the last election, it was all about the courts.

I'm not wedded to the "under God". It wasn't even part of the original pledge.

That being said, a pledge of allegience is voluntary and not a violation of the "seperation clause" found in the liberal alternate reality. By pursuing this, the moonbat has done us a favor - SCOTUS will rule against him and begin to entrench the pledge issue as settled law.

We have the right to say under God. This poor lost soul is now trying to take away my right of freedom of speech.

One crazed attorney who forgot to take his medication plus two families will now dictate to the entire country and change a tradition in these United States.

Where is it going to end? Abortion, Homosexuality, Pedophilia, Bestiality.

This country is on the slippery slpe and there is no end in sight.

I totally dread what our children will be facing in 20 - 30 years.

Chuck Schumer was on O'Reilly tonight and even he was ticked off at that Democrat judge.
