And I am not joking!

Actually, not necessarily. You are confusing median with average. Half are below median. Example: salaries of baseball players. Quite a number more than half are below the average because a few very high paid players make the average high.

"One in four Americans believe the Democrats have a plan."

Well, I know John Kerry does. He told me repeatedly during the '04 elections. So it must be true.

He just couldn't tell us until after the election. I'm sure he will any day now.... /sarc.

Now that's a bit rough. You're talking about the Norwegians there. /sarc.

As a bone-fide half-Newfie I'd like to reply with a biting and witty retort, but I can't think of one right now except that at least Newfoundland isn't overrun by Muslims.

In Europe, people who've never experienced close contact with Americans seem to think the average American is a TV-addicted, brainwashed moron, while other, most often more well educated and professionally successful Europeans who've been to the US and have met with many Americans, tend to have very high regards of the New World Citizens.

The former category of Europeans would propably claim the most stupid US Americans are the ones who stand up for ideas like Liberty, Patriotism and Freedom, while I would say a great deal of well educated, life experienced people in Europe are growing more and more tired of European PC culture and in many ways nuture an admiration of the true American spirit.

Don't get me wrong in neither way. Very few Europeans hate the US. On the other hand, few Europeans wish the EU and Europe in general to copy American culture.

Whatever the opinions of uneducated Americans and their fellow uneducated Europeans on eachother's continents are, their standpoints pose no real threat to the progress of Mankind. However, their lack of education do.

Of course astrology is a science. They teach you that in alchemy class. Everybody knows that. ;)

I would venture to guess that most "educated, life experienced Europeans" are trying to figure out a way to move here, unless they are plugged into the system there in a profitable way.

Ok. It is a common confusion, though. And your humor was appreciated by me (and others) even though I didn't say so. Reminds us of that place where all the children are above average.

Very true. Many well educated Europeans wish to find work in the US. Often they can earn better money than US citizens competing for the same job (because their educational skills are superior and employers therefore agree to pay them better salaries) and also, many Europeans who admire the US consider it a privilige to work in the US and experience a culture that is different to their own one.

Surprised no one leaped on that. Without discussing merit, I think it might be considered a theory....
