The American Superior

In developing a new breed of dog one naturally seeks to assure the ordinary expression of certain qualities or traits common to either, or both, precursor breeds but in certain cases to also enhance or augment desirable innate biological traits in order to produce a superior animal. To this then I have produced a superior breed of dog that I call the American Superior. Although, doubtless not the first to produce this breed, I am the only person of whom I am aware that has made a conscious effort to continue intentionally producing this breed, and furthermore because of this I have, through several generations of intentional breeding, and through the production of numerous litters come to have much understanding of this breed. I understand the inherent potential of the breed, and the obvious and instantly recognizable numerous advantages displayed by the breed, and how these various advantages factor together and work in concert to create a dog that doubtless yields a very valuable asset in the ownership of such an animal.

Lifespan might be an issue for the breed. Both Great Dane and Saint Bernard are short lived dogs; working dogs get a lot of training so a few years lifespan might be a consideration in the “investment.”

One of my dogs has lived twelve years so far.
And is still in good shape.

Nice. Maybe the mix makes them hardier.

Superior dog? Just get the German Shepherd back to what it once was, at least pre-’60s (as usual, the ‘60s ruined everything).

*Ahem*

Only using 2 breeds? How is this really superiorizing for “all traits”? That’s nothing but a simple mix.

2nd of all, are you the ONLY 1 involved in creating this breed? What is “numerous litters”? To see results in a rather short time as claimed for 1 person, it’d have to be a puppy mill! A few litters ain’t going to cut it as far as “conclusive results”. I’d feel better if you claimed to be forming a small club of enthusiasts who all were working together. I fear a puppy mill effect, otherwise. Lots of pups in too short a time is just too difficult to handle nicely (although they look fine).

I also can tell you a big heavy dog will NOT make a good hunter or police dog. It ain’t size, it’s agility.

I cannot speak to your expertise on these matters.

I do not know you.

I can say that some of my dogs have been used as police dogs.

As for the rest of your comments here, they are assumptions, not statements of fact.

But you are of course welcome to your opinions.
I would never stand in the way of anyone’s opinions.

I hate to break it to you, but everyone thinks their dog and its breed are superior.

The superiority of your crossbreed all depends upon what you're breeding for I suppose.

Each to his own.
