PERSPECTIVE: Less than 500,000 voters in 7 states decided this election

Posted on 11/05/2008 6:34:50 AM PST by WestFlorida

In other words, less than 1/2 of 1%. Traditional marriage ammendments passed in three more states. We get to fillibuster! And no more big bad George W to blame for everything.

Remember, 4 years ago we were riding high with the WH, senate and house. So we could be right back in the saddle.

0bama has two choices, either govern as a moderate and go to war with Pelosi, or go hard left and lose in four years. He won by a small margin outspending his opp. 5:1. That won't happen again especially if Romney runs. So let's keep our chins up and stay involved with your local Republican Party.

If you run Romney, I will oppose him as much as I oppose Obama.

Sorry, WF. Doesn’t take away the sting. :)

I’ll continue to fight for the right side, though.

McCain was the best of our two choices, and he got shellacked. I mean, c’mon: Virginia? Indiana?? Those should’ve been in the bag.

We’ve got rebuilding to do in our own party AS WELL AS trying to expose and uproot the massive Democrat fraud.

It’ll be a long hard slog.

Rommey You lost your mind.

I am positive the 2010 and 2012 will be easy for GOP unless Obama gives 12 Million votes to hispanics

Maybe I can look forward, in time. But right now I am so heartsick I can’t stand mySELF.

Obama wins; the “racists and rednecks” in Murtha’s district re-elect that horrible old man (showing that they are stupid, as well); Franken could STILL win in Minn.; Fox news shows clips of the stupid children celebrating in DC- high as kites and waving a communist flag.

Whatever Americans USED to be looks long gone right now.

That reminds me, “Willard”, the story about rats has been remade.

Maybe Willard will run on the democrat ticket where he belongs.

John McCain received 5 million fewer votes than George Bush did in 2004. Those votes were not coming out yesterday if Romney was the candidate. As hard as it is to accept, John McCain had, of all the GOP hopefuls this cycle, the best chance to win. The only other posibilty IMO was Fred Thompson, and he had no fire in the belly for the task. What went wrong? Ask those 5 million missing voters.

Yup - 5 mil less votes than Bush in ‘04. This was a referendum on Bush. Lots of people who voted Bush switched sides or sat out. My sister and mom both liked Bush but fell for the change mantra and thought we needed Obama because he was fresh. I’m sure this happened all over.

There’s a good chance that Obama will govern as somewhat of a moderate, because he has already shown himself be sort of a weathervane, bending somewhat to popular opinion. Look how he modified his position on troop deployment in Iraq when it became obvious that his ideas on early withdrawal would not be popularly accepted. Also look how easily he broke his promise not to use the public campaign finance system when he saw that it would be to his advantage to do so. One area where I don’t not expect him to be a moderate is in judicial appointments. We should all pray for the good health of Justices Roberts, Scalia, Alito, Thomas, and even Kennedy. Maybe even Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the other lib justices, because their replacements could very easily be worse.

True anecdotally, but exits show Obama receiving less than 30% of those 5 million Bush votes. where’d the other three/four million go?

100% agree.
And could we please stop with the Mr Rogers Republicans and their rose colored glasses ?
Always considerate and polite and respectful of what they consider their opponents, but, who are in fact..their enemy.
An enemy that will stop at nothing to destroy them.
Along with their media helpers.
We need hardball players on our side ,
willing to get down and dirty and to do whatever it takes to win.
Whatever it takes.

We need to start raising money for a conservative action group (separate from the RNC) that supports conservative ideas and candidates.
