what started this birth certificate debacle?

i have a question. (actually, i have lots of questions!)

what or who was it that first questioned obama's place of birth?

i am trying to figure out the original source of this info. it seems to me that the key accusation of his kenyan birth came from some who either knew or speculated that his mother traveled to kenya in the summer of 1961. it is certainly a reasonable hypothesis, but is there any evidence or reference that someone can site as to the first person that claimed this?

i think that philip berg was the first to claim that obama's mother traveled to kenya. does anyone recall if he actually was the first and, if so, what he based this claim on?

before you all start calling me an obot, here me out.

I BELIEVE THAT OBAMA IS CONSTITUTIONALLY INELIGIBLE TO BE POTUS, regardless of where he was born because his father was never a US citizen.

it is possible that the kenyan birth theory could have been started to divert our attention from the obvious and well documented fact that obama is not a nbc because his father was a foreign national.

this birth certificate issue has been twisted by the media and others, resulting in anyone who questioned his eligibility to be labeled as "wacko conspiracy theorists, racists, etc. this has resulted in the loss of credibility of this issue in the public eye and hinders otherwise intelligent citizens from looking further into the details of this case.

it is a safe assumption that a harvard trained constitutional lawyer, such as obama, would know the definition of nbc and how he is not one.

of course, i still think it's possible that he was born in kenya. i just think it is easy to get lost in all of the evidence and theories. it would be a good idea for us to step back, look at the big picture and try to determine how this whole mess began.

good bless america! thanks to all who still want to protect our constitution.

again, being new here, i do not understand how omitting capital letters would make me a troll.

i admit, there has been some weirdness with someone else posting my stuff, but if you check my previous posts, you will see that i am pro-constitution, pro-america and anti-ineligible-usurper potus’!!!

You said — “Prior to this circumstance, every other prior presidential candidate has a heritage of verifiable circumstances.”

We’ve had the same problem before... the 21st President of the United States. Leo Donofrio has documented, on his website, how he was not qualified per the Constitution and he hid his documents so no one could find out the information.

So, it’s about time to close up the loophole, since it’s been around for a very long time...

good bless america!

I don't think that someone who doesn't use caps is necessarily a troll, I only think they're uneducated and their opinion is not worth considering.
One thing bothers me though, next time please use "God bless America".
Some things should be capitalized.
Thanks

That I can’t answer. I never thought he was a viable candidate and didn’t pay too much attention until it was too late

Now we have the worst of all worlds. The Arkansas mafia and the Chicago thugs.

The country loses no matter where this fraud was born.

That is a really big "IF". Finally, you and I agree on something.

A little 'if', absent any evidence that he wasn't born in Hawaii.

but what prompted them to post the colb? who was the first to question bo’s birthplace and what did they base this on?

Following the link I provided above, from Michelle Malkin's article is a link to a story that contains another link to a story about trying to debunk rumors that originated in a chain email that Obama's full name was "Barack Hussein Muhammed Obama."

According to that April 18, 2008 story, they searched for any public documents they could find that might have Obama's full name on it, trying to prove/disprove that Muhammed was in his legal name. It was during that pursuit for documents that they ran into the stonewall over Obama's birth certificate.

I could understand a problem with documents back 100 years ago. The 21st President was elevated by the death of Garfield.
The biography says that Chester Arthur was born in Fairfield, Vermont in 1830. I am not sure what is not in order according to Donofrio.
But in this day of electronic records even things like school records should be easily verifiable. Obama would have been in grade school in 1965 or 1966. Records were on microfilm. At least in the US. But didn’t Obama go to school in Indonesia, a muslim school?

I don’t know about the loophole in 1881. But I do know we have a problem in 2009. Where are those records from the 1960’s that show Obama’s heritage as qualifications require for PotUS?

That’s why I’m supporting the following in Arizona and Oklahoma (so far) to close up that loophole and to require *specific documentation* in order to be placed on the ballot...

Eight Arizona Legislators Introduce Bill for Presidential Candidates to Prove Eligibility

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2170651/posts

I’m involved in the Oklahoma one, but I just give the reference to the Arizona one to show that this is being done...

The loophole back then? It’s the same as now. There is *no legal requirement* to produce *specific documentation* (outlined by specific name and type in the statutory language) in order to vet the candidate. All one has to do is sign the forms and affirmed that one is qualified, per the party, the campaign and per the candidate — and that’s it.

*That* is the loophole — the same one that has existed all along...

It’s okay, Sarah. I’ve lurked here long enough to know how “noobs” are treated.I think it has to do with being initiated. Anyway, Freeper “Polarik” has done amazing work on debunking the birth certificate that was posted online. I think he joined in June 2008. Do a search. Good luck and welcome from another “noob.”

Readability is an important factor when considering any information. Proper capitalization and punctuation increases readability.

While we are somewhat informal here, most of us will judge your credibility based on your communication skills.

For example, use “if ... then, not “if ... than.”

Typos are usually an exception.

Regarding the content of your post, there are plenty of articles here on FR that you should read if you want to “catch up.” Use the search function for the keyword “certifigate.”

Additionally, posting questions about a subject as a thread unto itself is considered a vanity and is generally discouraged. Find a thread in which FReepers are commenting on the subject and post your questions there.

I’m relatively new here myself. Welcome to FR.
