I have another list of every instance when american troops/militia were deployed or fired a shot in defense or offense from the year of the first pilgrims on plymouth rock to AD2000. That list I still have somewhere on a zip disk but it would take some digging to find it. I lost interest in it when I started looking into islam right after 9-11.

The history of the koran itself is fascinating. The koran never existed until years after mohammed died. Mohammed was illiterate and only believed in oral teachings. There is no way to prove that anything in the koran is anyway remotely close to what mohammed taught.

Does Eisenhower's U-2 incident with Francis Gary Powers count? He was on a military surveillance mission over the Soviet Union at the time. He was shot down, captured, and held for 22 months before being released in a prisoner exchange.

If you remember back to March 1st 1999 (Clinton era) In Uganda, two Americans from Portland (your area) were kidnapped and brutally murdered in Uganda by Hutu rebels blaming USA for Tutsi support. Of all kidnapped, 4 Brits, 2 American, and 2 New Zealanders were killed, French, and all other nationalities were released. In fact, three of the animals were caught in 2003 (yea Bush) and FBI brought them to US court. Judge Huval(sp?) tossed out their confessions based on claims of torture by the defendants. That ended the trial. They are currently being held by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement. These things I know because my sister was one of the Americans.

These animals are Rawandan. They will probably be tried upon their extradition (and hopefully face execution), which is why they want asylum in the USA. Latest from victims assistance Feb 2008...ICE has received a decision from the immigration judge in the case for Francois Karake. Although the immigration judge ordered Mr. Karake removed from the United States he also granted him an immigration benefit. The parties may file a notice appealing the immigration judge's decision. The term immigration benefit means that an individual may not be deported at the current time. Leonidas Bimenyimana has elected to appeal the immigration judge's decision in his case. The briefs from both parties are currently due. At this time, no appeal has been filed by Gregoire Nyaminani. ICE is continuing to pursue all avenues to effectuate the removal of these individuals from the United States. All three remain in detention facilities.

That was over a year ago.
