Why do I think the anti-gunners are gonna have a heyday with this headline?
I know folks that are buying ammo by the pallet load. That's about a quarter MILLION rounds of 5.56mm.
They're wealthy though. I could only afford a case for each caliber I own and a few cases of match grade for my long arm precision rifles.
sounds like those guys need a bigger army.
Ping
One of the local gun shops that I bought my 45 (in November) from had plenty of ammunition for it.I bought 500 rounds for it.They also sell alot of reloading equipment. Last week I went there for some 22 ammo. Different story. No 45acp ammo except for expensive hollowpoints in 25 round boxes. They said can't get 45 fmj at all. They did have 22s at that time and I bought two boxes (1000 rounds)
We have plenty of stripped lowers and uppers. Try to get a barrel. I spoke with Bushmaster last week - they have 180,000 barrels on back order. I found a complete 20” upper with the military barrel on it at a good price. Now I only have one more lower to complete, but you also can’t get lower receiver extensions, rifle springs, and rifle buffers.
There is a reason for this.
That’s a familiar story ... it’s interesting that Price has not increased nearly in proportion to demand ... resulting in empty shelves. Cheaper than Dirt has jacked up their prices more than most. They claim to have stuff in stock, though.
What you saw was the militia, getting itself well-regulated.
I would have bought twice the amount of 9mm and 5.56 ammo I have now if it were there for me to buy.
You cant find a box of 9mm around here to save your life.
PLA (Chinese Army) - ~3 million men
Indian Army - 1.8 million men
In order to top that we'd have had to purchase 1.6 million guns in one month (the article cites a 3-month period).
From the article: Law abiding US citizens bought on average 3,177,256 guns every 3 months in 2008.
So it wasn't quite true in 2008 (but not off by much). At least through the FBI sources:
This is an evaluation of overall firearms and ammunition purchases based on low end numbers per Federal NIC instacheck data base Statistics. The numbers presented are only PART of the overall numbers of arms and ammunition that have been sold. The actual numbers are much higher.
So, well...it's probably pretty accurate, especially given the increased rate of sale since last November. Of course, not every Chinese soldier would be happy with that little .22 single-shot I bought...
China has over a billion people. India is close to one billion.
Folks
I swear, I’ll do better..I just dont have the time to gun shop I did a couple years ago..
Last summer I went to a big gunshow in Columbia Mo.and there where literally barrels full of complete used AR15s for sale for like $400.00.
‘’There is a reason for this. ‘
No big mystery...the people don’t trust their government anymore..can you honestly say YOU trust the obamatrons to do anything other than what helps them get re elected?
We have plenty of stripped lowers and uppers. Try to get a barrel. . you also cant get lower receiver extensions, rifle springs, and rifle buffers.
It always seems like they don't have what you do need and do have what you don't need....
wait a minute.. did I say that correctly.... don't HAVE what you Do need and Do have what what you Don't need....
Yeah, that's the ticket...
What you saw was the militia, getting itself well-regulated.
Yeah, and getting itself some marksmanship practice
You are right on the price.I was at WalMart Sunday and they had 2 boxes of 50rounds 45fmj (blazer) for $14.95 each.I’m in pretty good shape on 45ammo so I passed.I told the guy at the counter “I’ll let someone who really needs it have a chance to have some.”
