I vacation at least 10 days a year in Panama City Beach. I’ll take my chances.

Gee, I hate to tell this idiot author; but more oil spills occur in Florida where there is no offshore drilling than in Louisana where there is. Florida coastline is dying because of the restrictions whereas Louisana is teaming with marine life and is pristine especially where the old oil platforms still remain at the request of the locals.

10 miles is within the line of sight. No one, especially those who have 1M+ homes over looking the Gulf, like to look at a sunset and watch the gas fires at night. Drill all you want but put the rigs over 18 miles off the coast. There is no question that the Gulf could use some structure for fish havens.

and the idiots who vote AGAINST offshore drilling should have to pay three times as much for unleaded to subsidize the rest of us.

Has any president inherited such a multitude or diversity of crises simultaneously? Can’t we cut him a little slack?

How about Truman? He 'only' inherited WWII with Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo still alive and had been kept completely out of the loop by FDR; whereas Ø, not only claimed to know the problems, he had been the driving force of US policy (e.g. TARP) even before his election. He had to mop up the half of the war FDR left him against the guys who hadn't attacked us (as W left Ø Iraq) and faced 100,000s of expected casualties to end the front against the guys who actually attacked us. Truman ended that half, the war in Europe, within his first month. As for the half a World War against the guys that actually had attacked us, the Japs, comparing by Ø's days in office Truman A-bombed Hiroshima... yesterday. Truman will do Nagasaki Tuesday and see Japan surrender a week from tomorrow. Meanwhile Ø is doing ok in Iraq... Bush, unlike FDR with Europe, had already seen the chief bad guys die there. But as for Ø's attacking enemies, Osama and the Taliban, they not only are still at large, but are extending their reach. Both they and their ideological ally, Iran, are threatening to obtain A-bombs to use against us! Their surrender isn't expected within the week. Meanwhile on the homefront Ø's biggest effort, the Porkulus Bill, has been proven to be an abject failure at its most touted goal, holding down the unemployment spike from the recession. Unemployment now with the Porkulus, is higher than Ø had warned, during the Porkulus debate, that unemployment would reach at this time without the Porkulus.

LOL! I love reading LibTard whines. Especially the ones that say, "Now, I'm no Socialist but ..." and then go on to explain why they're flipping Socialists.

Here is a great article from today on a 30-story natural gas platform in the Gulf. Survived hurricanes and pumps its heart out. Cleanly. Offshore gas rig in Gulf: Will it silence skeptics of drilling?

The LibTards just can't accept petroleum in any form. They really could give a rat's ass about how far away from shore, how clean, how much, blah, blah
