Dem Sen. Tom Carper Says There is No Point in Reading Actual Language of Health Care Bill - Video

Here is video of Democrat Sen. Tom Carper calmly explaining that he will not read the actual Health Care Bill because it is too "arcane," and "among the more confusing things I've ever read in my life." Carper said the legislative language is virtually "beyond comprehension."

Carper did not seem to think there was anything at all odd about voting on a bill, or even writing a bill, that is "incomprehensible."

He did say a "plain English" summary of the bill should be made available to people, but saw no use for putting the actual bill online for people to read. . . . (VIDEO)

Of course there's not...these dems already know and assent to what it says.

But the people do not...and they will not be silenced, and they WILL have satisfaction. 2010 is coming.

They are not going to have a written bill. It will be a “framework” of a bill that gets passed. None of the details will be filled in until after its passed.

So, the whole thing is an impossible to understand monstrosity but he is going to vote for it anyway?

He did say a "plain English" summary of the bill should be made available to people, but saw no use for putting the actual bill online for people to read.

We aren't allowed to see what laws they want to enact and enforce? Paging Franz Kafka. Mr. Kafka please pick up the red phone.

(Sorry if the video says something different. My computer is flash impaired so I couldn't see it.)

Congressman should never ever vote for a bill that they do not understand. If it is too much to understand, then it is too much to make law.

Carper is incomprehensible.

But because “Ignorance of the law is no excuse in any country,” then posting the full legislative language of all bills several days in advance of any vote on those bills should be a requirement.

With that in mind, Carper therefore has no excuse for being ignorant.

It’s that “incomprehensible” language that becomes law and that’s what the judges read, Senator, not your easy to read cribnotes version!

Concur 100%. ANY congressman that says such a blatently stupid thing should be fired on the spot.

That’s my Senator Tom, definitely not the brightest bulb in the box. What can you expect from someone whose biggest accomplishment is memorizing law books.
