Japanese on one blog thread as we speak are talking about this Obama bow to Emperor Akihito, and it is actually kind of funny because in fact they are following our comments on FREE REPUBLIC ON THIS THREAD and one poster is actually posting some of them in English. I just found it.

There were comments like "How ironic. The country was was defeated in World War II is being bowed to.", or "Obama bowed so deeply it is almost as if he is apologizing for something wrong". These kinds of Japanese comments.

Sample of them monitoring FR (I would imagine these are rather young Japanese who just write a short sentence or two, like a chat room):

He should be apologizing to the Japanese, they are being fitted for a new bus as we speak.

And it (the Obama position and behavior) is at odds with what probably 80% of Americans think and feel, and would say to such world leaders if THEY themselves were there--so he is a very poor representative and it is all out of a sense of imperial narcissism.

The failure is that the slanted and corrupt US MSM, covering for him, and knowing how angry Average Americans would get if they were told the full story about Obama overseas-both reality and perception-- purposely hush it up.

That is what makes our work here on FR, then picked up by major TV and radio talk shows, with vast audiences, so critical.

Very well put, TigersEye.

Today, Obama was a different President and a much different speaker at Elmendorf Air Base while on his way to Asia.

Since the Ft Hood shooting, Obama was criticized for not speaking from his heart just like he does at those SEIU UNION rallies.

Therefore, I believe that the President spoke at this base specifically for "image" to show the miliatary that he is sincere. It is just another planned and calculated move.

And, as usual, he had 15 or so military folks behind him for public viewing. There was the usual sampling of American Troops in the tv viewing screen standing behind Obama as he spoke. You know 8-9 white people, 4-5 black people, a few hispanics, etc. All for show.

This shows lack of sincereity. I know he cares nithing about the military. And, if he werenotcriticized this past week due to his FT Hood speech, he most likely would not be speaking to the troops in Alaska at all.

Am I wrong here?

Am I wrong here?

No, you're not. But you knew that.

Yes he should be representing the views of most Americans (representative republic anyone?) but he seems to represent only his own personal feelings. Which, unfortunately, are so fringe leftist he doesn’t even represent a majority feeling amongst the American left IMO. He’s a neurotic kook. A jug-eared Cindy Sheehan.

I saw some video of the Elmendorf speech and I immediately thought it was damage control for his “shout out” announcement the day of the Ft. Hood massacre.

The entire post was a quote from the thread...my apologies, but they do echo my thoughts, and thank you for confirming what I believe.

GMTA because I thought the same thing. Weak, lame, but an attempt for damage control. We have naive middle schoolers in the whitehouse, with a lot of power.

No, you’re not wrong; you and many others have noticed (and reacted to) the way EVERYTHING is done for APPEARANCE’S SAKE, with no sincerity or sensitivity—always using Armed Forces or children or developmentally disabled people as PROPS every time he appears on television or in public. Glenn Beck mentioned it on his show recently... It is all so calculated and crass!

Very typical for a sociopath though. People are objects and he is devoid of real feeling. He only mimics the feeling he knows to be appropriate for given circumstances.

No, I should have phrased my comment better, you didn't do anything wrong.

Sitting here with a cold in the middle of the night, thinking about this stuffed shirt, I just feel beaten. I won't feel this way long, but man, what a waste of time his presidency is, considering all the time it will take to repair the damage.

Now check this. One Japanese poster on the site I referred to, within the hour had this to say:

982 : ノイズn(東日本):2009/11/14(土) 18:19:00.10 ID:S62ZLFaa この写真すげーなw 大帝国アメリカの元首が深々と頭下げてる姿なんて 他じゃ見られない。

(Translation): Japanese Poster "Noise" says, at 6'19 p.m local Japan Saturday--"Wow! Just LOOK at that photo (note: of the bow). You will not see anything else like it. The top leader of the American Empire, bowing deep like that with his head to the Emperor."

That pretty much says it all. Confirms virtually every observation made on this thread. This story may never get any traction in our media but the effects are going to reverberate throughout the world.

You too? :-p I’m sitting here wheezing, from a stupid sinus infection that started out as a cold—woke me up about 3 hrs ago...(antibiotics should have detroyed this by now)

I’ve been told to not give up hope, that good will win...and something like if the cogs of justice grind to a halt, they will be manually turned. I can’t write as eloquently as my friend..so I hope that this message is conveyed they way he wrote it to me.

Feels really strange to have folks in Japan reading and posting about us here on FR. Sometimes the power of the internet just creeps up on someone born before television.

My late night early morning rant.

1. They are extremely naïve

2. They are absolutely attempting to restructure our society to one we will not recognize it.

3. The only opinions that matter to them are those of the same mindset.

4. They do not respect our military.

5. They don’t care about criminals sneaking across the southern border because they consider them oppressed and want to free them like the slaves were. Oh and they are thugs too—who are free help—terrorize those on the southern border..no need for seiu and their ilk there.

6. They are using “animal farm” as their guide book.

7. They haven’t spoken out against the armed bandits and thugs because they encourage violence against conservatives.

8. They are as bad as their thugs, and are abusing and misusing their power. They are aligned with them, yet distance themselves just a bit by only calling dissenters names.

9. If not for videos, audios, youtube, glen back and brietbart...we would not be as educated about their history as we are.

10. We need a history book written for kids by conservatives...and give them away for free. ;-)

#10 is an excellent idea.

What ever happened to all those old conservative millionare codgers, like oil men in Texas, that use to fund "right wing causes" in the 1960s and 1970s? Guess they all died off

Why cannot we find some big Daddy Warbucks to kick in a few mil. to print up tons and tons of comic books for kids explaining conservatism, capitalism, American history, patriotism and the Sacrifices of Our Fathers.

Just FLOOD America with such books.

I am wondering if all the rich conservatives would be willing to pool their money together to create such a dream. Surely there are still selfless folks out there willing to do this. Oh but to dream...
