Obama, The One-Term President?
Politicallore Blog ^

Posted on 12/14/2009 12:19:59 PM PST by DecoyJames

"Right in time for the run up to the 2010 congressional elections, Obama’s approval ratings are at an all time low. So low in fact, that he would have an extremely difficult time winning reelection if the presidential election was held in 2010. Obama’s ratings are horrible with independents with only 36%? saying they approve of the president’s performance."

I would concur on the ‘one term’ but he might site ‘health reasons’ as to HIS decision to NOT seek re-election.

The seemingly most ‘reliable’ news source (with real journalists and everything) is the National Enquirer. I have seen ‘floated’ NE cover stories alluding Obama’s weight loss to lung cancer (but I have read of Parkinson’s theories as well). So his ‘health’ may become the ‘get out of office’ card for him.

Running for office is the best thing Obama does. Have you noticed that he has sandbagged some of his far left initiatives (Gitmo, pulling out of Iraq, etc.) Also, he can send troops to Afghanistan so that he can draw a significant number of the back, in say, early 2011. I can see is speeches now: I closed Gitmo, I drew down overseas troops by 75%...

Don’t kid yourselves, he is one heck of a campaigner.

2012 is a loooong way away. People will have a long time to “get used to him.” Also, its pretty likely the economy will recover by then and Pres. Obama will claim the credit. Never forget the voting public’s short memory.

Furthermore, he's handed out a lot of money to a lot of different groups. The looters whether they're ACORN, unions, or CEOs are going to kick some back.

Finally, don't forget the fraud factor.

It is far to early to talk about Obama being a one-term president, (of course, one term of Obama was too darn long...). Its more important to try to figure out what he's going to try to ruin next.

Obamao being a one term president was a given from the get-go. The real question is, how long will that term be.(?) This power grab by the left isn’t the kind of movement that caters to Democracy. The 2010 election is critical. If we allow the corrupt, election machinery of the left to steal it, Democracy in the US will be over.

I wish he would. That is the one thing that he could not survive.

I expect Biden to run in 2012 as the incumbent.

“I am worried that he will try to make himself “President for Life” like his buddy Hugo Chavez.”

Does anyone seriously think the guys with the guns will let him do such a thing. You can only stay in office without constitutional authority by appealing to force and you have no force if the military won't provide it. We can pretty much count on our officer corps to disrupt any overt effort to subvert the constitutional transfer of power. Any effort to make Obama President for Life would end the way similar efforts ended in Honduras this year and Chile in 1973.

There's a lot to worry about in this world, but worrying about Obama canceling elections is a waste of energy. Not gonna happen.

The Democrats thought they had 2004 sewed up with Bush’s ratings in the tank. Then they went and chose an idiot as their nominee. Who wins in 2012 will depend on who the GOP nominates.

This is very true.... if we go nominate a crook like Huckabee, or a rhino like Romney... no chance in hell.

I tend to agree. Obozo won’t make himself president for life but he has already gone a long way toward dulling GOP threats in the future.

Frankly, I have serious doubt that he will make it to the end of his first term.

Millions of people unemployed, millions of us have completely had it with this POS and his nation destroying policies.

I don’t claim to be smart enough to know what the final straw will be, but when this country finally snaps, that poor bastard will be devoured by the unrest, as well as every other politician that has failed this country.

"Hodge-podge of idiots who are lobotomized by airport terminal CNN propaganda outlets = 15% of voters"

Sounds like those same droolers that Frank Luntz wires up in a room every election cycle.

It will be just one 4 year term, or it will be for life. I fear he’s preparing for the latter.

Your post and post 5 may be correct. He may be looking for a real or imagined "emergency" to declare martial law and to declare himself president for life. Is this really too far fetched to be considered possible?

Eight or nine months ago when he started the consolidation of his reign, I might have said ‘too far fetched’. However, with each passing day of the total lack of logic and fairness in his actions, leads me to believe he is, in fact, preparing to do so.

Don’t bet the farm on it yet.

The GOP can still nominate another dud. They’ve done it before; they can do it again.

If Obama does manage to turn unemployment and the economic crisis around, he can still pull out a win by 2012. He has 3 years.
